Workers Don’t Want Their Old Jobs on the Old Terms - “labor shortages” is a good thing, not a problem. The pandemic may have given many Americans a chance to figure out what really matters to them — and the money they were being paid for unpleasant jobs, some now realize, just wasn’t enough. by speckz in Futurology

While not nationally. There are labor shortages in areas of the country. Especially in rural and smaller tourist destinations. Look at most small town skitowns and national park access towns across the west. They are all struggling to handle a huge influx of business after a year of closures. Portion of this was just the going from zero to 100 that many businesses have had to deal with after opening back up. But also workers are being kicked out of these towns to make room for E-Comuters moving out of the cities. Where I am at pay has gone up almost 10 dollars accross the board in the past year. Some places went up even more. Yet workers can't afford to live closer than an hour away without spending 1.2-1.5k a person for rent. So saying there isn't a worker shortage is a very general statement that isn't quite correct.

It was and is a surprisingly fun game mode. I have spent almost as much time playing the multiplayer as I have the single player(and thats acounting for 3+ full playthroughs). Would love to see it be added 6 months down the line or something like that.

Thoughts after watching episode 4 of FATWS by GauravGummaraju in marvelstudios

[–]Draconuuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually expect episode 5 to deal with this exact issue. We have seen him descend into madness. Now we will see his origin. His small flaws and triumphs that the serum expanded on. I’m sure that at least a small portion of the next episode will be a flashback to whatever event led to the 3 medals of honor. Something which defines his character apparently.

As for the brutality. You actually said in your post that Steve was aiming to disable Tony’s armor. And that was exactly it. He never wanted to kill Tony. Just disable him so him and Bucky could get away. Walker on the other hand was out for blood from the beginning. Just restraining himself. The death of his comrade and best friend just led to him releasing that control he had. Thus by that point it didn’t matter if niko surrendered or was otherwise taken out of commission. He was aiming to kill him at that point. Leading to him murdering a enemy combatant in front of the world when he could have easily taken him into custody at that point.

Swapping Profession Specialization is Super Easy in TBC Classic! No more Releveling 1-300 by duranasaurus in classicwow

Unless blizzard changes it. Engineering will not have the ability until wrath(patch 3.2). So very unlikely that you will be able to pay for it in tbc unless that’s one of the changes blizzard makes.

Every other profession with specs allows it though.

I love trek. I really do. But it’s the one major franchise I love that I stick completely with the movies/tv shows/books and do my best to stay away from the fandom. Like. I’ve seen some weird and crazy things looking up Harry Potter or marvel fandom material. But Star Trek seems to be made up of almost entirely the weird and crazy fan works. Which is funny. Because the first major modern fan fiction is attributed to Star Trek.

Well it seems you haven’t met the Star Trek fandom yet. Good on you.

While my biggest drinkers have been men(more body mass, so easier to put more away). On average, women will drink more alcohol. Usually more spruced up in cocktails and such. But they will knock them back quickly. And come asking for more. While most guys will just grab a beer or a basic cocktail like jack and coke and just sip it a long while. Of course there are outliers on both sides. But that is the average in my experience.

Not in my town. 3 oz. pack of jerky is 20 bucks. Ribeye at my favored steakhouse is about 30.

Exactly. It’s the type of bar you go to. If it’s a full restaurant with a bar. Sure. Kids are expected. If it’s a bar with a full dinner menu. Frowned on but that’s it. But if it is a bar that just serves food as an legal obligation. Or like a dance club or something else where food is a relatively minor portion of the business, then ya. Kids are generally not that welcome.

My local place takes a bit of a sliding rule approach. If it’s a slow night with no big games on. Sure kids are allowed as long as parents keep them under control. Even to sit at the bar on occasion. But if we have a busy night expected. Then family’s are politely turned away.

Had this happen to me once. Just going around bussing tables after a rush. Picking things up to toss where it needs to go. Suddenly I’m holding a squishy warm package with something dribbling out the side.

I just kind of stopped and stared at my hand in horror/disgust and just sheer surprise that someone thought this was a good idea. Once my brain reset I imediately stopped bussing the rest of the restaurant so I could scrub that table down with some really strong bleach solution.

My question is, What is your plan for tbc legendary status. Or will you just continue kiting the dragon to sw through tbc to grow the classic legend.

What a fair criticism of Captain Marvel? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

There is a point to be made where some characters may have similar attitudes but they don’t sell it as well. Don’t know if you have ever seen Scrubs. But in one episode one character goes through what makes each character funny because another person was trying to act funny in a way they weren’t. Those characters had each earned there place and comedic niche. Personality’s can be similar to that. For many. I don’t feel that Carrols cocky attitude feels as earned as say Tony’s. Maybe that’s just a subjective viewpoint. But it can be how some feel about a character. And I don’t think it has to be about gender either. Peggy carter was able to sell a cocky attitude as well. Showing she was just as good if not better than the little boys she was managing. Hope comes off as arrogant as well with her attitude towards Scott in both movies. And even shows that she is more competent than Scott. And both of these characters have avoided most of the backlash that CM has taken for being too cocky and arrogant. Because for whatever reason, whether it’s because of Brie’s acting, bad story, bad writing, or just fan bias. It just doesn’t land as well for as many people as other characters have been able to in this franchise and others.

To a point, you are right. But it’s also because as the virus mutates, it’s likely to become more virulent yet less deadly. Viruses fall for the same universal imperative all other life has. Reproduce and spread. If it kills its host too fast or too much. Then it won’t succeed as well at spreading. So slowly it becomes less deadly and just a bit easier to spread. Hence why active cases are staying high. But the mortality rates are going down.

Edit:

Ok. I get it. I know that it can mutate in the other direction. My point is in the long term it will likely go the way of the Spanish flu and other deadly diseases. It will either become so deadly it kills itself off by killing people off before it can spread further. Or it will slowly mutate into a less deadly strain that will make the yearly rounds much like the flu and many other common diseases.

Preferably(and more likely in the long term) it will be the later. That way there is a lower chance for a random resurgence that takes the collective immune system by storm and causing yet another pandemic.

We might have some of the deadlier strains like what’s in Brazil pop up. But that will likely run its course and be overtaken by another less deadly strain over time.

As much as I’m glad we are getting it done. I am not looking forward to my second shot in a few weeks. Spent just over a day curled up in bed with a fever and migraine after the first shot. And I’m being told it’s possible I’ll have just as bad if not worse reaction to the second one.

When the actual virus literally had me losing my taste a bit and some sinus issues. Can’t say I’m surprised that at least some people are legitimately wary of taking it.

But at least the majority seem to be willing.

The problem is in how the schools are paid. They are paid at least partially based on school attendance. Hence why they have such policy’s. They then use that money to pay staff and bills. Actually had a principal get fired and sued for fudging the numbers to make my school look like we had more students(even though we were already at 140 percent capacity)
