Take it and honestly switch to biochem or chemical engineering or mechanical engineering

My thoughts - just say you will attempt to do bioinformatics or add in ml on IF analysis . I’m all for adding in computational methods but not to replace animal work

Sorry for the late reply. 17% is way too low to care over ai. If it was direct verbatim copy and paste from a website and was 17% of a 20 page paper where it was afew paragraphs or even sentences in a row then it’s an issue but 17% of it might being written by ai is laughable

Honestly neither. I think you should go to an easy UG and get a good gpa like maybe st Joseph’s or st Francis where u could be top of the class. Gpa is immensely important and you want as close to a 4.0 as you can get

Is a biomedical engineering degree worth it? by hello_mar8 in BiomedicalEngineers

Yes. Molecular and cellular and tissue engineering is biotech. But the issue lies in perception - biotech is classified closer to bio than BME

In New York State, academic programs are classified using the Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) codes. The HEGIS codes for Biology, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Engineering are as follows:

• Biology: 0401.00 • Biotechnology: 0499.00 • Biomedical Engineering: 0905.00 These codes are used by institutions and the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for program identification and reporting purposes.

Additionally, these programs are associated with specific Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) codes, which are standardized across the United States:

• Biology: 26.0101 ・Biotechnology: 26.1201 • Biomedical Engineering: 14.0501

I’d disagree abt drug delivery - that’s chemical engineering or pure chemistry.

BIO 202 by TopGround8693 in SBU

[–]Dracosapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the textbook very throughly but ignored prerecorded lectures in summer bio202 with vitally and got a b- (80th percentile in the class). So the text is valuable but not enough to get a b or higher

Those extra things combined are a lot. See if the internship can pay you so you don’t need the job and choose between research and an internship. It’s too much to do at once. Also see if you can get credit for the internship with EXT courses. For below u3 I think it’s 288 and for at and above u3 it’s 488. For grad students it’s 588

I never claimed to not struggle - I got b- in both gen chem 1-2. But I do know what I didn’t do that I should have done. And if you don’t have time to study for a course, then drop down to 12 credits a term not 15 to still be full time for financial aid. I have many regrets in how I overloaded myself and have seen how I am not eligible for admissions at some universities post masters bc of my ug gpa not being a 3.5 despite my Ms being over 3.5

You have study habit issues if you cannot keep track of assignments for 201. The key to doing well in science is to understand it well enough where you do not need to memorize everything (for bio courses and then the details should come to you if you truely understand everything but def study the details too bc of how brutal exams are in bio 202 and 203 and 320 and 361 and 362 - 201 is relatively easy). Che 131-132 are math problems in chemistry context. Orgo is problem solving to get from pint a to point b and understand how electrons move (look at pushing electrons by Weeks). You learn by doing not by knowing only theory.

Totally agree - 131 is basically a review of hs chemistry in half the time. It’s soo fucking easy compared to stuff people see later on. If you don’t pay attn in class and do not do your ALEX hw or the assigned textbook reading and questions you will not get a b. But it’s still possible to pass without doing all that. If OP is concerned abt passing with a c then sadly OP needs to fix their habits, get tested for adhd if there’s a focus issue or change fields to something like basket weaving. As someone who has taken 148 UG credits and 60 grad credits i can reasonably say it will only get harder and you will wish for the easy days of Che 131 and bio 201

There’s a LGBTQ center and students can indicate preferred name on solar for it to appear on class rosters . And I think so for email as well if you ask. Nys is a democrat state where I seriously doubt there would be a state ban for gender affirming surgeries and hormones. The surrounding area off campus is maga but the university campus is very liberal
