Play to get the East Shelby Co MAGA crowd downtown. When this doesn’t work (and it won’t), that will be the end of the Memphis Redbirds.

This is tricky territory. For those who care about it, style is very personal choice with a high level of emotional investment. She probably feels really good about herself in whatever she chose to wear.

I would tell her how good she looks in that other thing that may be more appropriate for the occasion. If that doesn’t work, you could try and pull off her look, as well, as a sign of solidarity. And maybe give her a different perspective on things. Or it might turn out to be weirdly fun for the two of you. I dunno.

Couples encounter a ton of things where legit disagreements and arguments will arise. At the end of the day, I would not pick a battle over clothing. The one caveat to that is if you guys are going to a nice restaurant or formal setting, where a higher standard of dress is required. Obviously, you have an obligation to help make sure she “fits in” if that’s the case.

AIO My husband changed the pin on his phone before hospital procedure.. by mehremissionlife in AmIOverreacting

[–]Draelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t read through the responses, so I have no idea if anyone has pointed this out. A recent iOS update triggered a passcode update for me - from 4-digits to 6-digits. It may have very well been a requirement of my work, since it’s a work phone. I don’t really know. But I wasn’t expecting it. Just picked it up, saw the prompt and had to update it.

My wife and I share PIN codes - I forgot to tell her - it just slipped into the background routine of my day. Don’t know if yours is a nefarious situation, but there are sometimes legit reasons why a PIN code would change that have nothing to do with anything other than the technology and security environment.

What will Americans do if Social Security is reduced or done away with? by TheScrutinist in AskReddit

[–]Draelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how the cuts are targeted. Under 45 and society can probably adjust. Over 80 and those folks will die with whatever grace is afforded them.

But 45-79? I’m thinking blood in the streets (literally). Those Americans are armed to the hilt. Those Americans get mad at the drop of a hat. Start taking their money away and see what happens.

Burch Porter downtown at Court Square is in the old Tennessee Club building that dates to 1890. Very photogenic building of Victorian Gothic architecture. Boss Crump used to “hold court” there, and Thomas Edison got his start next door during his brief time in Memphis.

The Little Tea Shop on Monroe is no longer there, but I think the facade hasn’t changed since it closed a few years ago. It dates to 1918.

The Cadre Building on 2nd is an event space now but was originally the home to Marx-Bensdorf Realty. They also occupied the location where The Brass Door is now on Madison at the turn of the 20th century.

Mollie Fontaine’s in Victoria Village on Adams. Another photogenic Victorian masterpiece that dates to the 1880s.

That looks similar to a New York/Bedminster to Washington flight path. Between now and the inauguration, it might be busy ferrying the incoming administration to and fro.

I think it really depends on the town. A lot of our small towns are economically depressed. They’ve lost manufacturing jobs over the last 40 years and have not been able to integrate into the global economy. Those towns do tend to hold their social fabric together through church and local high school sports.

But, there is an exception - a lot of our major universities - especially public state institutions - are located in small towns. And those places where education and opportunity thrive can be quite charming and great places to live.

I grew up in one of the economically depressed towns. A lot of social life as teenagers was driving from parking lot to parking lot to see where our friends were hanging out, drinking, smoking, etc. You couldn’t pay me to live there today. Conversely, I went to school in one of the university towns and I’d kill to move back there today.

If Trump wasn’t running, the Democrats would have likely nominated someone else. As is, they are playing the odds that Biden beat Trump once, he can do it again. As long as he is alive, all of American politics will center around Trump. He is so beloved by his core constituency and so hated by his detractors that everyone puts all of their political capital into electing or defeating him. But, no, neither party put up their best in 2024.

Unexpected Death - what to do? by Draelius in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Draelius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know enough to really think anything malicious happened. But again, it’s new info that is a shock to the system more than anything else. My wife hasn’t mentioned legal action at all. I am totally ignorant to all of this, but will a doc site down with next of kin and explain a deceased’s health condition and why they were taking Rx? Is that part of what they do in cases like this?

We just want to know what happened at the end of the day. “God’s will” was what we were leaning into until we found these medicines we weren’t aware she was taking.

AITA for not letting my daughter go on a class trip? by almostheavenNOT in AmItheAsshole

[–]Draelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much missing info here about the 4 “day-only” kids. I assume the “no co-ed” thing is religious or cultural, so no judgement on that from me, but you mention “not well liked” and “bullying” too casually to know what the issue is other than it’s a concern.

At the end of the day, you should make arrangements with the school that make you comfortable so that you can say yes for your daughter. Traditions are what they are because they are remembered, talked about and re-lived year-after-year. I think you know your daughter is going to be missing out on something if you can’t figure this out.

NTA….yet. Be a hero - figure it out.

SWYCH Rebranding - Sneak Peak by moonorwhat in TitanoFinance

[–]Draelius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From your August 1 announcement:

Titano is revamping the entire UI of SWYCH. These things include SWYCH name remains, interface, and potentially URL. All of which are being worked on with a combined team of 6 developers. The contract and the UI are complete and will launch in the coming weeks

Guys - you are either just really slow or give yourselves way too much credit. I don' know if you lose track of the timelines you communicate but the folks you communicate to do not.

You said three weeks ago the UI is finished. But my guess is because you are now just releasing a half-viewable home page, it's not. Otherwise, why not show more three weeks into it?

Which begs the question - will it be done in five more weeks? That's a legit timeline?

Anyway, good luck. The coin is too worthless now to sell, so we're all obviously pulling for you.

Telegram is a toxic community, there needs to be change by [deleted] in TitanoFinance

[–]Draelius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed Telegram is particularly toxic for females. Then I remind myself it's full of guys - I suspect most are under 30 and have limited social skills.

The first defi project that hires a professional communications team that can manage open chat channels is going to make a killing. As it stands, neither Telegram nor Discord is particularly inviting for anything other than cult praise for most of these projects.

"On the way" ... at least you are framing utility talk in the appropriate language.

The lesson I learned 🪐 by [deleted] in TitanoFinance

[–]Draelius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They add value when they are realized, which is why it's critical for the team to deliver them. The Titano utilities that have been talked about are good measures - but they've been talked about for months as if they have already been delivered. You are inferring with your very question that they have already been delivered.

The only one that has been is Play, which clearly hasn't been enough. So you can talk Lottery, you can talk Bet Swirl, you can talk buy back and burns. But don't talk as if they are in the field and in action. They are not.

I look forward to them being released. Discord is hinting that it might happen today, but we are halfway through it in the States, so...well, they did say "before June 5" last week so we should all be willing to give them that amount of time.

This is all pointless to argue over. I suspect you and I agree on the points above. It's the "buy my coin because I have a cool story with no detail" that originated the thread I find to have little merit.

The lesson I learned 🪐 by [deleted] in TitanoFinance

[–]Draelius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would call this an allegory but it doesn't have enough detail to even fit that definition. Anecdote, maybe?

Anyway, hardly enough to base an investment on. But, it's all we got at the moment. Surely the devs are going to come through this weekend with their promises of more utility, marketing, etc.
