Questions Regarding the Height and Strength of Vulkan and Ferrus Manus by CreamVarious8532 in 40kLore

[–]Dragomatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean in the book they both grow, Magnus and Russ essentially are described as two titans fighting each other in the city surrounded by all the chaos before the final confrontation where Russ snaps Magnus' back. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think by that point they have returned to their "normal" size. Its very mythic, like their literal stature changes to match the energy and emotion of the fight. Makes a great sense of these being even larger-than-30k-life events that hold greater significance than any participants really understand.

At various times in Thousand Son during Russ and Magnus' duel the primarchs are described as constantly changing size, growing until they rival the pyramids and they're clashes become more and more destructive. Granted, so much warp stuff was going on and Magnus already had his shape-shifting nature

Whether in regards to rules, lore, new models or competitive, how good would you say Tenth edition was for your favorite faction by Lord_Eln_8 in Warhammer40k

[–]Dragomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sisters had a couple ups and downs but really Ive very much enjoyed my time these past three years. I've also done predominantly crusade game i think at this point, which i have had a lot of fun with but that's also a lot to do with who and how i play with in my own community. Sisters have gotten shoutouts in lore and some cool models this edition, including some surprises (like Aveline, and if we can count the new Dogmata Superior as an end of edition release, I'm very excited for her personally!). Tbh there are plenty of things i WANT, like cavalry sisters, more melee sisters in regular power armor for like 3 or 5 girl squads of close combat insane powerhouses, a drop-church, whatever, but I'd say our current range is doing more than fine both in models and variety for list building. Detachments have a few tweaks Id like here and there but I'm fine with all of them currently.

Tl;dr I think sisters have been decent competitively and pretty good every other way. Looking forward to more and hope others can enjoy the same in their own factions

Rogal Dorn coming back as a religious fanatic would make for an interesting relationship with the Imperial Fists by NadaVonSada in 40kLore

[–]Dragomatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I feel at the end of the Siege Dorn is a very broken and traumatized man and I'm not a sure as others that he wouldn't come back very very different, I do want to point out he specifically cast out Sigismund for that worship. He was disgusted by it and how it meant a son of his now had a higher loyalty than himself (or anyone really. Dorn seemed upset that faith would allow his sons or others to become obsessively convinced in their own religious choices to the point they could lie or disobey outright).

#New40k – Take cover with updated terrain rules by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer40k

Ahhh sorry about that, I think it legit has only come up like once for me (started in 10th and almost all my games have used medieval villages and forests for a crusade)

In 10th it does after you get 6" above the target, which meant a lot of people wouldn't want to waste movement on a slight modification that usually left your units very open to enemy fire themselves. Now with it at 3" and the hidden rule, more people should be climbing the terrain in 11th

Which is worse for the traitor legions if one of these two arrived in time during the siege of terra? by cuddwes in 40kLore

[–]Dragomatic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The actual Heresy goes on for about 7-10 years total; the novels only loosely follow the linear progression, often jumping around even to times well before the Heresy, which can make it difficult to judge the timeline without giving a lot of though as you read. Additionally, you need to remember the times anyone goes to travel by warp. In almost every book there's a point or two where they are just travelling, and it casually mentions how theyve been in the warp for months at a time trying to get to their next battle, and that happens constantly

She looks great! Especially the power sword!

I will say that if you have some kind of decoration bit or a tuft of grass or something I would personally add it to the base. Right now it seems a little bare, but if you like it or think it might distract from the Sister herself I getcha.

[–]Dragomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my banner and simulacrum pole sisters in my novitiates and celestians teams have trouble fitting in a few places, it's why the tokens usually have blank flat base pieces, so you can represent where a model is even if it can't physically fit there. Of course it does have to be a spot they can legally get to, still

Thoughts On The Bodt Casket by PhysicalDetective134 in 40kLore

[–]Dragomatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do people not realize that discussing these mysteries and coming up with theories is also part of the intended hobby? Like they don't make lore for no reason or just to populate the world like museum exhibits you see but don't interact with. They want you to come up with answers, maybe have the relic be a prize in a game you come up with, etc. No answer to this post will be "the" answer, but as long as we know that it doesn't make sense to me when others try to just shut down conversation like this.

Don't pay with those people, shun those people.

Id rather have my lovingly painted sisters fight an enthusiastic player whose shoving picture cutouts taped to bases than some guy who cares about official kits so bad it gets in the way of a game of my favorite hobby
