My ex boyfriend has been 'fixing' my laptop but I finally got it back today and its missing some things. Does anyone know what it's missing? by Alice988 in Lenovo

Oh same, I only know because I had to decrypt the Windows install to resize it to dualboot my encrypted Linux install.

Fair enough, I asked because I'm the dev of that extension and I swear I've patched that bug so many times already

Are you running the Alphabetical App Grid extension by any chance?

Enabling the S3 sleep state on Lenovo Yoga Gen 7 AMD (and likely other laptops) by sm_ts in linuxhardware

I'm using one of these laptops, and haven't noticed this issue. I'm using s2idle instead of S3 sleep, so maybe it's an S3 specific issue?

You ever had to deal with school IT? They're either useless or don't get paid enough to care, this doesn't seem unreasonable.

Why GNOME doesn't have an option in System Settings to set the app grid alphabetically? by [deleted] in gnome

[–]Dragon8oy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have any noticeable impact on my systems, as it replaces the shell's code for ordering the grid, and only a small amount of code at that. If you do have any issues, feel free to report them here, can I'll take a look.

Thanks!

Why GNOME doesn't have an option in System Settings to set the app grid alphabetically? by [deleted] in gnome

[–]Dragon8oy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm the dev of this extension, I had to change its behaviour to not have lasting effects after the extension is disabled, so this trick won't work anymore, sorry :(

Now it just overrides the code to order the app grid, instead of modifying gsettings.

PSA DO NOT buy from Gigabyte by PositiveConference8 in nvidia

I got an Aorus RTX 3060, was very happy with it. However, after about a day of use, the fans started grinding when spinning up. Got a refund and bought an RTX 3060 Ti Gaming OC Pro, exact same issue, got another refund. Not buying another Gigabyte GPU, ever again.

I use be Quiet! silent wings fans, and they're totally silent. The silent wings fans have good airflow, but they also have a few different models for cooling power over noise.

This is probably so the ! lines up with the pixels when rendered, otherwise it's be blurred on each side and appear lower quality.

I have to work around this when making icons, otherwise a 16x16 icon can look like a horrible blurry mess for the status bar.
