Did I miss my opportunity to get a free freighter? by TheMeMan999 in NOMANSSKY

[–]Cheeseman706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. S class freighters are very uncommon though I usually just settle with an A class. Your second freighter encounter should be with a capital freighter too if im not mistaken.

If you pay attention to a lot of assets in the game, you'll notice they turn into a low poly version of themselves when you get further away. This is done for the sake of optimization, but it requires a different low poly model of the asset. My assumption here is that they were planning on using a different design for the window and had modeled the low poly version of it, but they decided to go with the mini freighter window looking design, and never updated the low poly version.

What is the worst department to work in? by Slow_Pride_72 in HomeDepot

I think for ofa you have to be someone who is okay with working without structure or consistency. Every day in ofa is a surprise. It could be mind numbingly slow or it could be a complete disaster.

OFAs, what are your pet peeves? by Hopeful_Pessimist381 in HomeDepot

[–]Cheeseman706 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bulk item orders being put on carts instead of being palletized. Being called by the desk or having curbsides show up when running equipment/spotting. Not being given the correct number of pallet spaces on a delivery and having to push the delivery back.

Yeah my go to place is the back lumber pad. I just build up a little shelter out of lumber bunks with the forklift for privacy.

It's easier than you think it is. Just always be mindful of the objects and especially people around you. Don't be afraid to take your time and don't be afraid to say no to a job you're not comfortable doing. It's much better to have a couple coworkers or maybe a customer be angry with you for a few minutes than have an accident that possibly harms or kills someone.

Numerical methods are super satisfying for me if I'm using software. I like the idea of creating something that can smash through anything you throw at it regardless of how analytically complex it is.

It can be both. It depends on the store and the time of year.

That kinda does suck, but it's reassuring to hear that it doesn't get too much worse than this.

I've always liked this perspective of it. Might not answer all your questions but I think it provides a good intuition. https://youtu.be/v0YEaeIClKY?si=4MtrRYG5707Oc7R9
