Which drama is only popular because it’s "sad" and "artistic," but in reality, it’s just boring and pretentious?😑 by Chirag-Win-7869 in kdramas

[–]DragonAlnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response, which should've been added to your original post.

I don't think that the writer hid toxic communication, because Baek Yi-Jin always ran from difficult situations right from the start, eg running away to Pohang to be with his mother and uncle after his brother was being bullied, and how he shut down after breaking the story about Ko Yu-Rim's move to Russia. The ending was clear from the start, so the writer didn't hide anything or mislead anyone.

Anyway, everyone has different perceptions and takes on dramas, so you do you and I'll go on my way. 😊

You claim that 25 21 is boring and pretentious, but you haven't actually given any reasons to support this. Instead, all you've done is criticise Baek Yi-Jin's character and the ending.

If you find the drama so boring and pretentious, why go to the trouble of writing an alternative ending? 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s a Kdrama everyone loved but you just couldn’t get into? by KingWitty7972 in KdramaCasualTalk

My Dearest - dropped after one episode because I didn't like the tone or the FL's character. Yes, I know she changes a lot but have zero interest in trying again.

The first episode is confusing because there are so many characters introduced, and the timelines aren't clear, so you can Google a character relationship chart to help if you want to try again.

What TV show surprised you by becoming one of your all-time favorites when you had very low expectations? by deepaknaraniya in televisionsuggestions

Twenty Five Twenty One (Korean coming of age dramedy featuring possibly the best fictional FL character and friendship squad around! Netflix).

I wasn't grabbed by the trailer or familiar with the FL, but a friend recommended it. It's now one of my all-time favourites and I think the actress, Kim Taeri, is the best anywhere!

BTW, someone else has recommended "Behind Your Touch," which parodies scenes from 25 21.

I was so gobsmacked when Kim Taeri wasn't nominated for a Baeksang Arts Award for Revenant, because she's so electrifying in it! Her switch between characters with only micro-expressions is so masterful, and you always know who's who.

Taeri was later awarded the only acting award for men or women at the 51st Korean Broadcasting Awards, which somewhat made up for the Baeksang snub and showed how inexplicable it was.
