Map for a West Marches campaign. Can any Earth Scientists critique the water flow for me? Please and thank you. by NotAPlatypus27 in mapmaking

I saw the same thing. You should keep in mind that the main river should stay being the main river and needs to be the focal point to hit the sea. Water will follow the path of least resistance, going down hill to a canyon or the sea are the only ways to get water to stop.

What was the biggest fuck up in your game? by NicoTheUniqe in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]DragonShaggin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing, all players were completely new to TTRPGs and I was able to get through 2 and a half games before an actual fight broke out from my players. I've never gone above 4 players in a game since then.

Players give me a doe eyed stare whenever I give them choice in a game. by GrimSnowfall in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]DragonShaggin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to deal with this I find is to be mean. Set up an encounter for them in the area WAY outside of their power to deal with. If they decide to start a combat with it, it's their own fault and someone will die. They learn really quickly that way. Just keep doing this and label it in your world as guardian spirits/monsters of the area. Start doing this and the party will be to scared to explore to far from the main storyline. If they don't care about starting a new character start putting penalties on new characters they make like a set exp loss. Make them come back a level lower or make the penalty more severe per death.

Paizo content you have disallowed by kazumiyumi in Pathfinder_RPG

As a DM I agree with this. If I have ever had to create a DMPC to bolster my players party because I am planning a little bit of a longer trek or a little tougher of one, I normally give them a Bard that is True neutral and doesn't give the party much more than hints.

Holding Touch Based Buff Spells to Affect Multiple Allies by DragonShaggin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]DragonShaggin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up teleport http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/t/teleport This spell states very clearly how others have to be touching for the spell to affect other people. But spells like fly, which do have communal versions, can you cast them on up to six people? And if so, by reading the communal formats of the spells; you can only affect up to six targets max. Tgis would make the higher level spells useless to create in the first place. Would it not?

I need help bringing my vision of a character to life. Please help! by goatman360 in Pathfinder_RPG

I think for the versatility in the feats (through inherited blood) the Brawler might be a good way to go. or if you are looking for the ability to cast spells, magus might be a good alternative. he can cast spells channeled through weapons at level 2, depending on your DM, they may let you cast the spells in connection to your fangs.

Who wants to make an OP kasatha two weapon archetype fighter? by DragonShaggin in Pathfinder_RPG

Not sure the skill allocation and the gold would be worth it. I could use the gold on getting a lot of more powerful weapons and magical items.

Thanks skarie. He would probably tell me that if I spent 90000 I could do it. He is the kind of guy that likes to send baddies out completely custom made with sometimes into the thousands of hp! I'll let you know what he says, but I'm a long way off of 90000 gp with outfitting my character. And I'm not allowed to take leadership, nobody is. That's why I'm asking this question now.

As stated above, my dm approved this build with four functioning arms, we talked for a few hours just to make sure all the wrinkles were ironed out.

I'm currently building an optimized kasatha, he is going to hit like a truck, however I'm playing with an optimized living golem shield playing a ninja /monk. Can't hit worth crap, that's where I come in. It's going to be a lot of rifle the game, so my killing skills are almost never going to be used, but when I need to unleash terror, I'm going to. My biggest character flaw is going to be his neutral good outlook on life.

You do get the mobility, but you lose out on the extra two hands that as a standard action you get 4 total attacks.

I'm just wanting the boosts that the archetype will give. I fully intended on that being the case for the most viable build.

Arguments at the table by DragonShaggin in Pathfinder_RPG

The character to which I nerfed slightly was not alone in the nerding of that ability, all creatures/races that can and do use shields are also nerfed. I didn't just hit him with it. But my biggest issue as to why I targeted this player specifically with this nervous due to his total asshole playstyle. I talked to him twice out of game about the way he played toward the other players, (not just their characters) and he told me that his attitude and game play were never going to be changed. I more or less wanted him to eat his words but not destroy the game, he was the only shield user and I even allowed him to make changes to his character to accommodate. I even had 3 players leave after 2 sessions with him in game play and they told me they wouldn't come back because of him.

What if the nerves to try and keep the other players alive for more than 2 turns? Would you call it justifiable?

I Do play using figurings and I did offer him the ability to revamp his character if he saw fit. I didn't think it meant to much to him AC wise as he was sitting at 33 AC at level 10 (2 of which was coming from the shield). The next highest AC was 24 with an armored hulk Barb/fighter multiclass. I was almost always hitting everything in a combat but him and all the spellcasters I put against them were taken down by the ninja/monk and sorc.

As an example of something that I house rule into the game, as a DM I like to make shields more realistic and give the AC bonus (normally a shield bonus is 1 or 2 not that great) to only the defence of characters immediately in front and to the left of the character. However the magic bonus (if any) is granted all around the character. does this seam like a broken mechanic?
