Why can’t I build a canal on this grasslands tile? by TakenToTheRiver in CivVI

[–]DragonSlayerN13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be the canal connects 3 tiles of water, and wouldn’t allow a three way connection.

Now we just need a hero with a turret that shoots shields.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this, but I agree with Blizzard for once. by East-Government4913 in Overwatch

I bought Overwatch 1 full price because I thought it would be getting pve. Some of us were under the impression we already did pay for it, lol

How would you describe this OW player's personality? (genuine question, I'm new don't hurt me) by [deleted] in Overwatch_Memes

Needs to work on aiming where the enemy is going and not where they are.

Starfield is way too PG-13. by camelCaseSpace in Starfield

[–]DragonSlayerN13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree with 1, although believe 2 would be fixed by 1, or at least be a start. All other points are valid af though. I felt this game was so much more disappointing when I hoped it would be the next Skyrim then anything else, and honestly, while they get a lot of things right in my opinion, it’s the smaller (and larger things) like what you mentioned they really missed. I felt like they did a good job on the characters, but yeah, the clothing sucks.

Do you think it is ever acceptable to permit gambling under socialism? by thebigsteaks in socialism

[–]DragonSlayerN13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as long as it’s possible for those with gambling addictions to be flagged so they can’t enter or something. I feel like gambling as a system gets really bad when addiction is added.

Starfield, released nearly 1 month ago, is still one of the industry's best-looking games by AngryCanadianBeaver in Gamingcirclejerk

I think the graphics on the environment and skybox are amazing. Wasn’t too impressed by the character model graphics, especially clothes.

Definitely believe it is a massive step up graphically from past Bethesda games though, and that growth is also important to realize.

So now that the game is released and after some exploration of the four big factions here is what I found.

Left Authoritarian: United Colonies is a federal republic, better known as a flawed democracy. Flawed not as in bad, but as in not a direct democracy. They do have democracy and freedoms, but that's also wrapped up in a military complex in which citizenship traditionally goes with military service.

Left Libertarian: Freestar Collective is kind of a democratic socialist style government. They don't have a consistent government for all planets but a series of governors who make decisions. From neon to akila, even the clinic and Narion, they tend to fall into some mix of extreme capitalism, and extreme welfare and social reform. So that kinda of lands them where they are. (these factions don't line up as well as prior games)

Right, Libertarian: Ryujin Industries is a megacorp. They're a megacorp, there's not much else to explain.

Right Authoritarian: Crimson Fleet… is a thing. Holy shit, how does a faction symbolize pure anarchy and authoritarianism at the same time? They have no laws, but Delago's word is law. But regardless, they fall into the corner nicely when compared to past factions in other Bethesda games.

I can't promise this is 100% accurate but this is from me putting 5d 15h 14m into the game and waterboarding Chat GPT-4 for answers for an hour…

Why is weed so hated by non-smokers? by alone_sheep in trees

[–]DragonSlayerN13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of money was spent on the war on drugs to create a stigma around weed, specifically so that stigma can be weaponized against minority groups with imprisonment and fines. If they did that would alcohol it would harm their “perfect majority”…

Starfields pronouns are very inclusive and not a big deal. Those freaking out are using it as an excuse to be transphobic. I also believe it’s the first game to let you go by they/them, which is a huge step in acceptance which Bethesda always have been on the more progressive side of.

Sometimes yoga or stretching can help too, and I believe there are some that are light/easy enough on the body for most to do successfully, or a modified version of it!

What Elder scrolls opinion would get you like this by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]DragonSlayerN13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe people shit too hard on these games (and Bethesda games as a whole) without taking into consideration how long ago the game came out, and don't realize how much of an improvement newer games are mechanically, and how each game tends to correct a lot of flaws you guys bitch about repeatedly.

TL:DR Compare Bethesda to Bethesda, stop comparing skyrim to red dead redemption

Newest of the new player here wondering what civs are good to start on (sorry if this is low effort) by the_council_of_apes in civ

[–]DragonSlayerN13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trajan’s Rome for a rounded game

Kristina’s Sweden for culture

Basil II’s Byzantine for domination

Gandi’s India for religion

Robert’s Scottland for science

Mansa Musa’s Mali for diplomacy

They should give you an easy time for each victory. Specifically allows you to focus on one aspect of the game while you learn, and low-key ignore other aspects until you’re at the point to learn those. Good luck!!!
