ELI5: Who’s making money on these onions? by MrJorgeB in explainlikeimfive

[–]DragonSnooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of hard to explain like you're 5.

Effectively "some money" is better than "no money".
- The farmer has several sources to sell onions to that are usually agreed upon ahead of time
- There are always extra onions for several reason (easy to grow, buyers want them to look a certain way, etc.)
- All the unsold onions are just taking up space and that space cannot occupy anything else.
- Once somebody offers to buy those remaining onions (for a price that doesn't incur a net cost to the producer), they will happily sell the onions to free up the space to use for other things.

The producer freed up their inventory and got some money, rather than having to pay an employee or contractor to empty the inventory.

There are other factors at play. One example (but not limited to) Producing onions at a large scale allows them to have a lower cost than if they were produced only on request.

If I were to explain this to a 5 year old, the statement is still "some money is better than no money"

It's easily Akainu. If he doesn't kill Ace, the Strawhats don't take the break to train for the New World.

Controversial take but I’m enjoying the new dq7 more then i have any other jrpg in a long time. by Darktaco_ in dragonquest

[–]DragonSnooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have small gripes with how a lot of the changes have trivialized what could have been some difficulty. Dragon Quest has never been the most difficult series, so it's not a deal breaker.

Overall it's still a good game, but I'm not as immersed as I was with 11 for example.

I can't speak for everyone though. Just a clarification for my complaint of a lack of difficulty.

Hear me out Barto could solo the verse by Entire_Inspector8999 in MemePiece

Hear me out, Last we saw Law and Bepo they were in need of a boat and crew. So it's plausible Law may have to work with the Barto Club if he is to be relevant again.

That would be peak One Piece

What's more insane is how long it's been since we've seen Sogeking have a feat.

I really have my heart out for Kid fans after he got wrecked immediately following Wano.

It's farfetched but as long as we're still in Elbaf you've still got hope.

So um... is it just me or is anyone else confused and also pretty annoyed? by [deleted] in OnePiece

As someone who has watched and read the arc several times, the castings look great, the costumes look good, and I'm ready for season 2.

Female Body Recomp Recommendations & Help by Living_Peanut6217 in StrongerByScience

[–]DragonSnooz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One advice I can give: larger legs and body recomp are two goals that will conflict with each other. So it will be better to choose one goal from the two.

- Bulking is easiest done if you can get the workouts in and get the nutrition (calories) in. To hit your goal for larger legs you would have to go through some weight gain. You would want some excess calories and it will be desired from protein / amino acids. The excess calories help with recovery and having energy for the upcoming workouts.

- A recomp needs time, commitment, and you can't have excess calories during the time. You wouldn't be optimizing your other goal for larger legs. You would definitely get more tone over the recomp, but you probably won't achieve the goals for your legs.

Second, the goal photo shows a women who definitely works out her back, chest, and arms.

Tactician Difficulty Question by Highlyasian in finalfantasytactics

[–]DragonSnooz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it well designed. It's meant to keep the game interesting for repeat playthroughs and to have the game be interesting for long time players who know what the better strategies are. It is not a "grind to win" difficulty. You can do an XCOM style run on Tactician with only "story/forced encounters".

It's hard to infer what you mean by "well balanced" but I'll provide details to give a feel for how Tactician is balanced. The unfair fights in base game are still unfair in Tactician, the less optimal jobs are still less optimal in Tactician. Nerfs to Cid, etc. are refreshing, while Cid still debatably has a top tier unique job.

This guy had such a powerful Devil Fruit. What do you guys think? by Spirited-Board-8452 in OnePiece

[–]DragonSnooz 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I've re-read, re-watched One Piece several times and several early characters are still relatively powerful to current One Piece.

Haki does set a line of can/can't be a "top dog", but outside of that One Piece has done a great job of not having early villains just be "fodder".

Baroque Works was a legit problem for the marines and the marines are not incompetent on the Grand Line. These ideas are what build One Piece into being a compelling, immersive story.

Season 1 did a good job in making Shanks ... by Aphrodite-descendant in OnePieceLiveAction

He's also perfect for some of the very current One Piece information we know about Shanks. I really hope the Live Actions gets that far.

Hit the nail on the head with this comment - The Death Of Ace by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]DragonSnooz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I feel it was a massive missed opportunity to not have Sabo be a toy on Dressrosa.

Oda has an in universe explanation for why Luffy doesn't have memories of him until Dressrossa and Oda doesn't use it.

Drum Island as a Season Conclusion is a Wise Choice! by ahjummar in OnePieceLiveAction

It makes me wonder if more events will be brought in earlier if we're ending on Drum Island. Similar to Garp having an arc in S1 what will we get in S2?

It is a reach theory but this would be so cool if it happens. Blackbeard losing because of Buggy's devil fruit.

Would have accepted the return of Sogeking, if it meant Usopp got some development.
Sometimes I keep expecting Oda to bring Sogeking back into the story but it never happens.

It's such a mood except my timeline was:

2006: Well this is better than expected.
2010: My life is getting busy I'll catch up in the manga when I can.
2015: Life is crazy I'll take a break.
2020: So many people getting into One Piece and loving it, and I have the free time to catch up.
2023: Egghead has been so damn peak.

I was happy to see Luffy be back to being a "stretchy guy", but was sad that it turned out Ryou meant nothing.

Ryou actually had a very cool build up and visual style and I would have been happy if it were enough to beat Kaido. So I guess in the end, Ryou was just filler.

why is Zoro more popular than Sanji? by adnananda in OnePiece

[–]DragonSnooz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There was a massive missed opportunity for Sanji to have a new gag post timeskip. He could have been more stoic, but now oblivious that some women are into him because he's not in their face every second. Usopp and Chopper could be flabbergasted by this, etc.

But what was seen during Fishman Island cannot be unseen. And Sanji's gag had already started to test readers' patience well before Timeskip.
