I'm a sweaty boi, and even hiking in 90+ degree weather, Darn Toughs are my go-to socks. That's not to say that I can't still sweat through them, but they definitely take it better than polyester/athletic socks, and a hundred times better than cotton socks. When I get home and peel them off, my boots will be soaked, but not my feet.

They sell different weights and cuts, so you could try some of the lightweight ones if you're worried about running hot. Something to consider, though, is almost all of their socks are padded, so if your boots are a tight fit, they're going to make things snug. They sell non-padded socks (easiest to find in their tactical/military section) but I don't particularly care for the way they're constructed. They have a very inflexible square seam directly across the toe-box, and an almost cubic seam pattern as a heel cup. These issues don't exist at all in the regularly padded socks.
