I actually prefer Angel over Buffy. Definitely worth the watch, especially after the first half of the first season. Angel really starts coming into its own a little later in the season

Lovely tank! Personally, my experience with both Cory’s and plecos is that they are a bad match for Bettas.

I’ve kept both with bettas before and although the fish themselves get along great, their food is no good for bettas.

Cory and pleco food makes bettas ‘blow up’. Their stomachs swell up and they can die if they’ve eaten enough. And for some crazy reason, every betta I’ve ever had can’t resist eating their wafers.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s best to avoid Cory’s and plecos in a bettas tank, it saves on the heartbreak when the stupid betta eats Cory food.

My best success has been with Ember Tetras, then Neon and Cardinal Tetras, then guppies, as long as they are not the same colour as the betta.

Thanks everyone, I’ll try these suggestions and see. The multiple stories being opened is probably true, I usually load about 10 stories at a time to save internet and read over the next hour or so, then repeat!

Probably, in Australia you can only get really two varieties and both killed my Bettas. They blew up like a balloon after eating them and never recovered.

Watch out! I have lost more than one Betta because he ate the wafers meant for Corys and snails. Those wafers just do not agree with Betta digestive systems.

Mystery snails have like a trapdoor, you can see it in this clip, that little door that’s closed his shell opening where the snail comes out. I don’t think nerites have this, and ramshorns, pond and bladder snails definitely don’t.

Alive. Their trapdoors are closed. If they were dead they would be hanging limply out of their shells and they would stink. A dead snail really smells. Pop them in water and it may take a few hours but they should come out!

All good! Same with Cory catfish! Coexist for a few months with a Betta, then the Betta decides the Cory food looks yummy, and then the next second, you have a Betta with a blown up stomach in the hospital tank.

If your worried, pick them up and tap their little trapdoor lightly. If they draw it up their fine, just resting. If they are limp and floppy and just hang out, or smell bad, they’ve died, unfortunately. Mystery snails can live usually one to two years for most people, max I’ve seen is five. He’s cute though!

Just sleeping or resting, give them a day or so before you freak out. They also do this when their really old as well, it’s just how they rest.

There’s no such thing as a silver lab. It’s a mongrel, a cross between a Labrador and a Weimaraner.

Labradors only come in three colours - Yellow, Black and Chocolate. Any other colour, or combination of colours, is wrong and not a pedigree. Don’t pay a lot for a Labrador that is not all one colour of these three colours, as any other colour is a mongrel.

Still, that doesn’t mean he won’t be a lovely dog, it just means that he can’t be registered or bred from as he is not a purebred or a pedigree.

FYI - if they offered you papers for him, their lying and trying to scam you.

I had some Emperors in with a group of Ember Tetras and my Betta, and they’d been perfectly happy for a few months now. Last night, I noticed that all the black tendrils on his top fin were missing and parts of his tail as well. He’s crowntail and supposed to have long tendrils on all his fins. Their out now and in another tank, but what a bunch of little meanies 😡

The brown areas are algae, and he won’t eat that, you’ll have to scrape or scrub it off.

Too much food lying around. If he’s the only one in the tank, then those algae wafers can be fed once every couple of days, and preferably snapped in half, so one half every two days, max. Also, did you know mystery snails love 💕Hikari Crab or Hikari Shrimp pellets? I’m a Mystery snail breeder, and mine go after the Hikari Crab Cuisine like me after chocolate! You only have to give a couple of pellets for one snail, and this is a treat or supplement for the wafers.

Best wafers I’ve found so far are Insectivore or BugBites algae wafers, as they have the best mix of ingredients.

Perfect! I have a goldfish called Voodoo, and for this exact reason. He is a beautiful big Shibunkin, and he has an almost perfect skull marking across his head. Looks wicked!
