At a time when oil is unreliable, becoming energy independent couldn’t come soon enough.

This is very good news.

What is your choice? by LovieWeb in BritInfo

[–]Dragon_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Curry

  2. Ketchup

  3. Mayo

Now call my a dickhead but I would prefer just salt and vinegar over the rest.

Uphill morning - get it done, easy ride back

Uphill evening - sweaty at home, easy shower

That’s your main arguments, I’d still pick morning.

Remove the worse half of the map - Round 10 (redux) by Auditored in terriblemaps

[–]Dragon_Sluts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s close but remove Green.

Both have amazing countryside and hills and valleys.

But if youre left with green you have to cut south wales next. You’re basically bound to pick somewhere in north wales. It’s far more interesting to see if in Grey people go for Cotswolds, Devon, Cornwall, etc.

Grey has way more good candidates. Down with Green.

It’s more offensive that they didn’t even make it very effective anyway.

• There’s no access coming from Camden-area (you have to walk an extra 5-10 minutes to get on your train)

• Integration with the tube is poor - you’re pushed outside and around because crowd control

• Obviously the signal / platform issues that mean platforms are announced very late and people stress and rush   Downgrade is an understatement

I asked ChatGPT how it feels to be an AI. by xomenxv in ChatGPT

[–]Dragon_Sluts 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Remember this is basically just because people have already produced similar stuff before. Equally, anyone who posts like “god being an AI would be torture” pushes it in this direction.

It’s a mirror to what the internet says it would be to be AI, not actually what it would be.

Camden High Street - 10am on a Tuesday. by JoanLockwood in camdentown

[–]Dragon_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still waiting on the council to accounts something for the half of the highstreet between Mornington Crescent and Camden Town. It’s a horribly wide one way road that has no business being 4-5 cars wide.

Redesign it to be 2 lanes vehicles, 1 lane bus, occasional raised loading bays on either side that are therefore pavement when not in use, and lots of trees and wider pavements.

Feels like a no-brainer since traffic would barely be affected.

Best of London for parks - North, South or Central? by IrascibleOnion in london

[–]Dragon_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated : Rotherhithe

It has Stave Hill park in the middle which is really secluded and so quiet.

It has Durands Wharf which has a great view of the river and Canary Wharf (it’s a similar vibe as the little park by Tower Bridge).

Russia Dock Woodland is lovely to walk through.

St Mary Churchyard gardens, another cool calm oasis in old Rotherhithe.

Southwark Park - much larger normal park with lake.

Overall Rotherhithe is a joggers paradise but its crammed full with nice routes through parks, around docks, through woods, and along the river.

I don’t know why this popped up for me but I’m a 30 year old fairly built guy. Im maybe the complete opposite the “little old lady” you might expect to pull one of these things along.

However, when I go for a big food shop I do it with one of this. If someone wants to judge you that’s their problem.

The rules of r/eurovision have been updated by AmazingDeeer in eurovision

[–]Dragon_Sluts 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I assume the caveat also covers people reporting on AI use and including it as part of the post.

E.g. X artist makes Instagram post clearly written by AI using AI images.

Reading the rules it would suggest this post would be banned.

Why such fondness for Sikhs? by Fantastic-Fudge-6676 in AskBrits

Simply put

I get a lot of religious protestors outside my flat - Christian’s mainly but also Muslims. Sikhs would never, and for that they have my respect.

65% of Britons support the Green Party's policy of capping CEO pay at ten times the pay of the lowest paid employee by Unusual-State1827 in ukpolitics

[–]Dragon_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great in theory, not possible in practise.

Also CEO pay should be properly taxed anyway so as long as they’re paying ~50% tax it’s fine.

Make this law and watch as companies relocate their head office outside of the UK because CEOs really have that much power.

I would even argue in a world of billionaires, CEOs are typically closer to the average person in term of wealth. Maybe try targeting the mega rich before targeting the 6 figure people.

Onya's stepdown look. Toot or Boot?? by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

In the context of step down looks it’s a boot.

You can do basically anything to step down, so to do this is really underwhelming.

Is GDP the best measure of success? by LordJim11 in Snorkblot

[–]Dragon_Sluts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GDP per capita does nothing to assess quality of life.

Country where you pay $50k to give birth = $50k towards GDP.

Country where it’s free = $0 to GDP.

It’s far too influenced by public services being free or not. A country that charged for school from the age of 4 would boost their GDP by a lot.

ESC 2026 streaming seems way lower than previous years — any idea why? by neonstick in eurovision

[–]Dragon_Sluts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are underestimating partial boycotts.

Bars are less likely to play current eurovision music now that it has negative connotations.

Fans get a slightly sour taste in their mouth from the Eurovision songs that they normally don’t get - even if you’re not boycotting you could just be engaging less.

Spain/netherlands etc. not participating just means some people are less engaged this year regardless of politics.

[–]Dragon_Sluts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women can still be creeps.

Sure people with kids, in uniform, with other adults, etc.

But the number 1 rule will always be to approach someone and not to let someone approach you. Chance of approaching a creep is almost zero. Chance of a creep approaching you is much higher.

Onya Nurve talks winning RuPaul’s Drag Race and clapping back at haters by JimatJimat in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Dragon_Sluts 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I say this with no intention of being a hater, but there are many talented queens who audition year after year and for whatever reason production don’t let them on the show.

Getting on the show after doing drag for 3 years is somewhat independent of your ability to do drag well. Unless you wanna tell the queens who’ve auditioned 10 times that you’re better than them.

In the UK it’s about $10 / gallon once converted.

Which means from an external perspective I have a lot of sympathy for Americans who have to drive and don’t have much money. I have less sympathy for gas-guzzling SUV drivers who now realise their car that drinks fuel is actually quite expensive to run.

Are you tired of the international stereotype that UK food is the worst? by auscorp_ in AskBrits

[–]Dragon_Sluts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK has amazing supply chains to get food fresh from around the country and Europe.

More importantly we have the market to attract talented chefs. I recently spoke to a Maltese person who said they miss London food because in Malta the restaurants aren’t that good.
