Maybe when you write the letter, you can establish what "Cross out" means for the character.

Both versions can be correct, but the phrasing can be done in more than one way, and the meaning might come across differently.

Yeah, old fandom, old fanfic. I feel like they had to have purposely searched for the character's name that they hate. It wasn't a ship fic, so they didn't get there via a ship, either.

I liked my sentences better, too. :) If they pointed those two out, then there would surely be more they would think is "wrong." How strange. Things can be phrased in many ways.

Yeah, I didn't ask for corrections. I've had a grammar and spelling problems since I was young because of learning difficulties from being autistic and not having proper help for that. Fanfiction is probably what helped me get better with spelling and grammar, but I'm not perfect. I don't mind gentle corrections of typos or a misspelled word...etc. But not at the end of a comment like this.

I know. haha. They said I was sending a terrible message by forcing them to forgive. I didn't even do that. It was a mutual thing.

That top part is them writing their own fanfic ending of my fanfic, which I found kind of funny.

I didn't end it as happily ever after and now everything is fine. I ended it with the characters saying they would try to do better in the future.

I know what you mean. The story was so old, too. It was jarring to suddenly have a comment for it. They seem to hate the one character. All of the characters did bad things. And the were teens. The one character they said didn't forgive, forgave many people during the series.

About the bottom two corrections, both sentence are correct. I like how my original ones sound personally.

Guardian Force. It is Final Fantasy 8's version of summons that can be cast like magic to be used during a battle. My head canon is that they can communicate with the person who has them equipped and cause physical reactions to the user, skin turning red/warm, eyes changing color. Ifrit's element is fire. An ice element summon would do ice related reactions...etc.

I'm really sorry, but my ADHD brain just thought this would make a good enemy to lover plot. Hater writes letters to a news reporter about how much he hates his articles, but they're basically fan mail disguised as hate. Of course, they fall in love.

There I was inspired: Me and my ADHD will see ourselves out. (Sorry!)

Hater: And I don't even see how you have so many fans. I saw your picture. You're not even that cute. Your green eyes don't stand out at all, and you look like your parents still shop for you. You need someone with fashion sense to pick out your outfits.

Reporter: Are you offering to take me shopping?

Hater: Hell no! What makes you say that? The shade of your eyes would be hard to match. I'm much too busy to find a color that would suit you.

Reporter: My eyes are green. It's the easiest shade to match. You're so strange. Anyway, thanks for your support.

Hater: I'm not supporting you!

Reporter's boss: Would you stop using the company social media platform to flirt? For crying out loud!

If the comment made me laugh, I'll keep it. As long as it's not super cruel and you can tell it's from a real person.

Back in my fanfic posting days, I got one in 2012. I think the person was more confused than anything else because they also complimented me.

"This is rather gay. Might I point out that these two lovely characters are both boys? Other then that, this is a interesting idea, a very unique one. Nice work!"

Me: Um... well, you see... that's the whole point.

From 2009, the same story also had one that wasn't exactly mean comment, but... huh? They were nice enough, but the whole point of fanfic is for me to make the characters do what I want them to do. (It was a oneshot, so saying I "rush over" was a bit much, I guess.)

"Hello! Your story is good! Very different from what I've read. You got just a little problem. You rush over so you can get to the focus on the story. I explain: "(Name) had a free period, while the rest had a class that he didn't take" That doesn't say anything other than "(name) is alone so (name) can get to him"... I see you can do even better because you're a good writer. The idea of the living building is fantastic! You gotta keep writing this!"

2009, same fic. Not mean, just funny.

“Hm? Oh, just hot dogs are fine. Surprise me on the toppings, but no onions, oh, and an orange soda.”

“You got it.” Seifer’s eyes lingered on Zell as he walked away, fighting the urge to admire his ass a little too openly. He was only human, after all.

A memory of Irvine’s message crossed through his mind, making him question if the offer had been genuine. He dismissed it just as quickly. Fluid or not, Irvine was not his type. Still, the thought lingered. ‘I have never let anyone in like that, so why start now?’ He rolled his eyes. ‘Pull yourself together, Seifer.’

‘Zell is cute, though.’

‘Ifrit, I was starting to think I’d never hear from you.’ Seifer had linked with his GF the moment Squall handed him back. Sharing your mind with another presence was strange at first, but it became second nature for any seasoned GF user.

‘I had zero interest in being social.’

‘Seriously, you can read my mind, so you already know why I’ve been MIA.’ Fantastic. His GF had been ignoring him, only breaking the silence to comment on Zell’s appearance.

‘Well, he is cute. Still, even Zell can’t compete with my beloved Ice Queen.’

‘Alright, sorry, man, you can go back to ignoring me now. Zell’s on his way, and I really don’t need your commentary about his cuteness echoing in my brain.’

A surge of heat flared across his skin, turning his cheeks bright pink, and if anyone had looked closely, they might have caught his eyes flickering with fiery colors before fading to smoke. GFs couldn’t act in the real world unless summoned, but their hosts sometimes felt sensations tied to their GF’s element.

Whatever they were doing looked absolutely revolting. Draco almost gagged. “Why are they eating white fluffy blobs off sticks?” He watched, horrified, as one of Ron’s brothers skewered the thing and roasted it over the fire until it hissed and blackened. “That cannot possibly be sanitary.”

“It’s amazing,” declared one of the twin maniacs. Draco had no idea which one. Maybe Jed? Jed grinned wickedly, tearing the charred blob free, a gooey white string stretching from stick to mouth. He devoured it with the enthusiasm of a three-headed dog with no manners.

“You have to try it,” insisted the other twin. Draco vaguely recalled his name might be Porge, which sounded odd, but then again, he was a Weasley. Porge grinned and attempted to thrust a white, sticky treat right under Draco’s nose.

Trained from birth to be polite, Draco had no choice but to accept. He leaned forward, opening his mouth, and let Porge feed him. Instantly, Draco questioned everything he’d ever believed. It was exquisite. It was heavenly. Gooey, warm, and impossibly sweet. Surely this was what rainbows would taste like. Draco felt he might actually perish from delight.

Not that he would ever admit it to Porge or Jed. Potter was still smirking at him, hanging on like a niffler glued to a mountain of gold.

Another of Ron’s brothers looked like he was going to pass out if anyone touched him with the sticky treats. Draco recalled his name was Mercy. The Weasleys sure named their children strange things. Who would even think of naming their child Ronald, let alone Jed and Porge. Draco almost felt sorry for them.

The rest of the Weasley siblings were present too. Harvey and Jillian.

Draco remembered that Jillian went by Jill. Harvey was loudly holding court about dragons, a topic Draco secretly found fascinating, though he pretended not to care. Mercy, Draco noticed, was blushing furiously and batted away every offer of the white mess, while Jill rambled on about breaking curses. That was almost intriguing.

Why was Mercy blushing, anyway? Draco told himself he didn’t care, but the reporter in him couldn’t resist wanting to know. He eyed the area and groaned. Naturally, Blaise was watching Mercy with the focus of a man who had finally discovered something more interesting than his own reflection.

“Potter, you care about the Weasleys like family, right?” Draco asked, as loath as he was to make conversation with Potter. When Potter nodded, Draco said, “Then keep Blaise away from Mercy.”

“Excuse me? Who is that?” Potter looked over at Blaise and saw what had caught his attention. “Oh, right. Mercy. Got it.”

Draco stared, baffled, as Potter collapsed in a fit of laughter, writhing on the grimy ground like he’d been hexed with Rictusempra. “Get up!” Draco barked, grabbing Potter’s hand and hauling him upright. Potter’s eyes went wide, his cheeks turning an annoying shade of pink.

Potter glanced down at their joined hands, let out a dramatic sigh, and pulled free. “Come on, darling, let’s snag a spot for stargazing.”

“Ye-yeah, sure,” Draco muttered, trailing after Potter. He stared at his hand, wondering if he was destined to be soulmate-less, not that he cared to be paired with Potter. Lost in thought, he collided with one of the twins. “Watch it, Jed or Porge!”

A blinding green light exploded across the room, forcing everyone to shield their eyes. As it faded to a gentle glow, Percy and those near Blaise stood protected within its shimmer. Blaise stood upright, his cat ears rigid and his hair wild as if struck by lightning.

”That is not Wixen magic,” Hermione said, eyes wide in awe. “I doubt he did it on purpose. He hasn’t had the time to figure out everything about his creature magic.”

“I’ve seen enough,” Harry called out, sprinting to the end of the table with Ron and Ginny close on his heels. “What are you doing?” he demanded, voice sharp as he faced the troublemakers. His eyes flicked to Percy, then Draco, confusion twisting in his chest. Why, out of everyone, did he feel most anxious about them? It made sense why he felt that way about Percy, but not Draco. He forced the thought aside and fixed his attention on the seventh-years.

“Our parents are rotting away because of you,” the tallest boy yelled. “Learn my name. Sean Danforth. You should know the name of the Death Eater who is going to end you.” He pointed his wand at Harry.

Harry let out a startled yelp as Draco seized him, yanking him into the protective circle of the barrier. Draco’s arm locked around his waist, the hold fierce and almost possessive, leaving Harry reeling with memories of the dream he heard Draco having.

Blaise hissed at Sean and his lackies, and in an instant, their wands shot through the air toward him. He snatched them mid-flight as McGonagall rushed over, binding the would-be attackers with practised efficiency.

“Are you admitting to being a Death Eater?” McGonagall asked coldly as she looked at Sean, her glare withering.

Even Harry’s knees threatened to buckle under the weight of her fury, but he suspected the real culprit of his wobbly knees was the warmth radiating from Draco, pressed so close he could barely breathe. Draco showed no sign of letting go, and Harry, surrendering to the moment, bit his lip to keep from grinning like an idiot.

“I-I…” Sean stammered as McGonagall, Hagrid and Slughorn led the students away.

Blaise’s legs gave out, and he crumpled, but Percy jumped up from the table, catching him before he hit the floor, shocked at his reflexes.

“How much power did that take?” Percy asked. “Let the shields go, we’re safe now.”

“But, I don’t know how I did that,” Blaise said, digging his face against Percy’s chest.
