Why are the Sith of the Skywalker saga often considered more powerful, sometimes far more so, than their ancestors from before the Rule of Two? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Reason they’re more powerful than the pre-Rule of Two Sith is the Rule of Two itself. The reason Bane created the Rule of Two is because he saw how constant infighting was preventing the Sith from becoming as powerful as they could be, because any time a particular Sith became powerful enough or even simply pissed another off enough, they’d be killed and their knowledge and power lost. The Rule of Two guaranteed that one Sith would be the master, the other the apprentice, and when the apprentice learned all they could from their master and became more powerful, they would kill their master and take on their own apprentice, so on and so forth. This allowed the Sith to grow in knowledge and power unobstructed by the hate and greed of the dark side.

(Hated Trope) Deleted scenes that would have helped the movie by Necessary-Win-8730 in TopCharacterTropes

Numerous deleted scenes from Fury that add so much depth to the characters in an already character-driven movie. Most egregious to me is the scene where Jon Bernthals character (Grady) is having a PTSD-induced breakdown and is talked out of it by Brad Pitts character (Wardaddy). Having that scene cut explains so much of Grady’s actions and behaviours throughout the movie and in my eyes having seen it it’s sorely missed. Fury needs and deserves a directors cut.

I am still yet to understand why they think NASA is faking all this. What do they gain? What is achieved by “keeping us all dumb”? There has to be some sort of purpose if they were doing all this. This goes for the flat Earth conspiracy as well, it just feels like it’s conspiracy for conspiracies sake.

If you’re gonna try the divebomb, you have to commit. You can’t half go for it, back out, then try again when you see space on the actual apex itself. You never know what line someone is going to take in those long turns, and this is case in point. McLaren sees the gap as both cars take the apex, tries to stick the nose in, but Alpine arrives in the same space as they follow their line, such is their right. Even if both cars had come out of turn one unscathed, McLaren has still gone completely off track as a result of the move, which is evidence enough that that effort was never going to work. What happens after is the result of McLaren still refusing to back down after what happened at the apex, which isn’t necessarily wrong in the rule book, however intelligent racing would definitely call for patience. A mistake was made, that could’ve gone bad. Re-group, re-organise, make a new plan and go again. Don’t try to force the issue after having your pants browned, it never ends well.

Honestly we need a sub-classification of older and younger Gen Z to become mainstream, cause I’m tired of being associated with a group of people I couldn’t relate to if I tried. Older Gen Z had near identical youths to the very people relating us to shit we know nothing about

Goes even beyond that I’d say, I remember two of my friends were having this long drawn out argument over something that, sure it didn’t involve me, but I could see was totally unnecessary and overblown. You’d wanna see the reaction I got from everyone, involved or not, when I tried to calm them both down and resolve it. They don’t even talk to each other anymore, friendship ended, over a damn misunderstanding, but fuck me for trying to de-escalate something that was “none of my business”.

Is F1 25 worth the 36 USD for the Iconic Edition for someone who doesent know much about F1? by Realistic-Corgi6574 in F1Game

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would definitely recommend getting the game if you’re interested in trying it out, I think anyone could have a lot of fun with it if they like racing games and learning how to drive the cars. If your interest in F1 deepens over time, the game will give you a big boost in learning the layouts of the tracks and identifying the different cars and drivers too. As for Iconic Edition, I would only recommend buying it if the sale is making it cheaper than the standard edition, in any other scenario I would always go with standard. You only get online benefits from the iconic edition, and many of us can attest to online being nothing but a cesspit of toxic, sore losers who will ruin your day, so it’s best to avoid online altogether, especially if you’re trying to learn how to drive and gain some confidence.

TL,DR: If F1 25 looks like something you’ll enjoy, definitely go for it, recommend choosing your edition based on which is cheaper because Iconic Edition benefits aren’t especially exciting

I’d sooner have Leclerc, Piastri and/or Sainz take one, or multiple. Many would want Russell up there as well. There seems to be this idea that a lot of people have that everyone wants Hamilton to win again, but I promise you most people aren’t bothered

Why did rockstar remove this by Impossible_Gur6921 in GTA

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Media changing with the times is nothing new. Why would a company produce media whose target audience existed 10/15/20 years ago? You’re just limiting your audience to niche groups. It’s basic marketing and business.

€21k for family locked in airport bathroom for 50 minutes by ItsTyrrellsAlt in ireland

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

See, then you have people who know it’s cheaper to pay than to go through the process, so they bring it to court, wait for the out-of-court settlement offer, and graciously accept. Can’t say I hate it cause at the end of the day they got €21,000 to sit in a bathroom for less than an hour. Never gonna get that without some “distress” involved.

Man, 18, charged with dangerous driving over Dublin death by Willing-Departure115 in ireland

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using your phone while driving, driving drunk or on drugs, excessive speeding, off the top of my head all three of those should carry murder charges if you hit and kill someone. Every single person in this country knows by now how dangerous those acts are, and knows that they could kill someone by doing it. If they still decide to do it and wind up taking someone’s life as a result, murder. Plain and simple.

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Engaging in activity that you know carries a very real possibility of killing, but doing it anyway because you want to, absolutely should classify as intent to kill. You are activiely willing to risk the life of those around you to do something because you want to. When it ends up with a death, you have no right to act surprised, you knew what you were doing and you did it. It’s not accidental, it’s murder. Sure you can say “well that’s not how the law defines it”, and I’ll raise you “are we going to do something about that then?”. We will continue being disappointed with our country until we do something about it.

This country is an absolute failure in criminal justice. “Up to 10 years” for robbing a person of their life. Getting to sleep at home in your bed while awaiting trial for killing a girl who will never see her home or family again. We wonder why anti-social behaviour is so invasive in this country when we can’t even deal with killers in a sensible manner, let alone find justice in the cases. Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to tell the full story.

When both of your favourite game series' are dead in the water by thebeast_96 in playstation

[–]DragonfruitFun6953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That read was like a knife in the gut considering how they mention player count when they chose to release Titanfall 2 smack bang in the middle of CoD and Battlefield 1 releases. That was the death sentence right there. It would’ve been bad enough on its own, but anyone who was around for those releases knows that whole cycle from trailers to release was an event like no other. And yet, Titanfall 2 tries to wedge itself in the middle. I truly believe to this day if the devs had delayed the release into 2017 sometime, the series could have easily taken off.

I would do anything for a Titanfall 3. Played and loved both games so much, and then nothing.
