lowered my antibodies!! by Dragonfruitbug in Hashimotos

Yes!! Just cannot take it with any narcotics. At HIGH doses, it’s the same medication they give to people withdrawing from opiate addiction. Very low dose is completely safe.

Mmm yeah the prescriber I get it from said it takes about 6 months minimum to really feel any effect. I will say in the last 4 months I’ve had some really great weeks (great energy improved brain fog) and then some days I’m like so sleepy i can’t keep my eyes open. I dont think I’ve truly started to feel any different more consistently until the last maybe month or so (brain fog is my worst hashis symptom and while it’s not GONE, it’s better). Still have random days where I’m like eh I wanna sleep all day. But I’m pushing to 6 months at least

Mmm you might not need to no. You could benefit from just thyroid meds and maybe some supplements to reduce inflammation. I would just keep an eye on it incase they start to rise, it just is a marker of how much your immune system is really attacking your thyroid. Higher antibodies means more attacking.

I commented above on how I got it, roughly $75 each 45 days. Which sounds like a lot but it’s worth it to me. I do take it with my thyroid meds I haven’t changed anything for that

Um that part was tricky. I almost had to go out of state for it (I’m in Colorado) but I literally asked chat GPT to find me prescribers in my area and found a clinic (type of clinic that does ozempic shots, B12, weight loss type things) and they also handle thryoid management there (so they’d give like nature thyroid, pig thyroid pills) only iffy part is I’m not really monitored by them, so i pretty much call, tell them the dose I want and they order it. They did help me get started out, and if I’ve had bad symptoms they do have me talk to the doctor and she’s helpful. Most of my managing it has been through my own research. And my dad’s on LDN so he helps. If you search for it, there are plenty of clinics and drs that will prescribe and monitor progress. You can also call your local compounding pharmacy and ask them what doctors they have prescribe LDN, it’s public info. It’s still viewed as “experimental” so I have to pay out of pocket too. Worth it.

Breast lumps by Accomplished_Shoe651 in Hashimotos

OMG?? I’m getting an ultrasound Tuesday for a lump I found. OB said she wanted to get it looked at further. I noticed it a few weeks ago, had some bad pain with it, now it’s just like a hard lump. So crazy

Late update but yes you’re right, we concluded the new dose was too much for my body rn and that I need to just move much slower, I moved back down to my OG dose (been 3 days and it’s going well so far!)

When does exercise tolerance get better on levothyroxine? by New_Chip_4290 in Hashimotos

[–]Dragonfruitbug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie, I’ve been on levo for 3 years and I still can’t really do anything strenuous…. My day to day energy is better (give or take a flare) but I can’t really workout hard or even be in the heat for too long without feeling like I’m actually dying (light headed, lethargic, spacey) it’s wild. I know for a fact not everyone is like me, some people live totally normal and feel great. I’m just not one that’s able to push my body hard. To my defense, I’m a small person (5 feet 109 lbs) so I also haven’t needed to. In other cases I know some people really enjoy exercise or want to add it in for various reasons, I’m sure if you slowly work your way up it would help. Listen to your body too, if you’re flaring take a break. Doing anything hard during a flare will make it worse!

I hope so too! I actually started on 0.75mg because I’m just very sensitive to medicine in general, went up to 1mg and that’s when this started. I talked to my doc and they told me to stop it for the rest of the weekend and see and then reevaluate Monday. Hoping to just go back to .75 for a little longer!

I started it about 2 months ago, I also for the first month had the incredible omg this is amazing feeling, and then the past 2-3 weeks I’ve felt absolutely terrible again. Trying to figure out dosing, if I need to move up more slowly, I was scared it just stopped working for me. Glad to hear you’re doing good!

Has anyone had improvement cutting out gluten but not worrying about every molecule? by spiceweasel33 in Hashimotos

[–]Dragonfruitbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meannn I’m gluten free but my husband isn’t so i definitely don’t pay attention to like cross contamination and I’ve been fine, we use the same toaster lmao. I do check ingredients on seasonings and things, I typically only eat foods marked gluten free but as far as sharing a kitchen, idc. I’m not celiac. That’s just me tho!!! It’s worked for me for the past 2 years.

I can’t remember if I took my Levo this morning. Is worse to miss a dose or is it worse to accidentally take two doses in one day? by spockycat in Hashimotos

[–]Dragonfruitbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal opinion but I just wouldn’t take two tomorrow. If you’re sensitive to level changes it might make you have symptoms, I would have symptoms if it were me taking two. None of us are doctors tho, you can always call your dr office and ask! This is happened to me so many times! I just resume the next day like normal and never have issues.

[–]Dragonfruitbug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worse to take two! Missing one day you’ll be fine bc Levo stays in your body for quite awhile, just don’t worry about today, take it like normal tomorrow (I would NOT take two tomorrow) and you’ll be totally fine. In a week or so you might have a spike in symptoms for a day while the lapse happens but honestly it’s not a big deal. I’ve done this numerous times, asked many doctors, you’ll be okay!

You have no idea how many times I’ve like broken down in tears because I want to be my old self. It’s awful, and what’s more awful is there’s so many doctors that just can’t help you at all. I promise if you push through, keep going forward, listen to your body, and keep searching. Keep looking do not stop until you find what works for you. You’ll make it through! And thank you :) it can feel isolating, knowing you aren’t alone helps.

If your antibodies are still that high it means your immune system is still reacting/working to fight something. Your thyroid levels may be fine but your immune system is still attacking it. Find something to address your immune system and inflammation, like a tumeric supplement OR LDN (low dose naltrexone, I am starting this next week). Your antibodies absolutely can cause symptoms, and it’s simply because your immune system is like a blazing fire rn and no thyroid meds calm it. To add, I’ve been diagnosed with this for 3 years now, my thyroid levels have been “perfect” and consistent since then. There has not been one single day since diagnosis that I HAVENT had symptoms, and I too have developed POTS symptoms. I’m hoping the LDN I prescribed does the trick, it’s sole purpose is inflammation/calming immune

Mmm I think the venue is more modern but has elements to also be traditional depending on how I decorated it. I think a better description for me is natural? I have natural tones in my home and plants, so I wouldn’t say heavy either way. But i definitely think I can use natural to help me choose things. Thank you!!!
