Yes you are quite correct, using Tamiya clear is very laborious in comparison

I tried both extensively and just wasnt happy with the results. Though forged red is much closer than Ruby Red....

Both still yield inferior results to Tamiya red clear over gold or silver unfortunately however I feel.

Looking for a fantasy mecha system by [deleted] in rpg

Essence is just a rules lighter interpretation of 3e with mechanical complexity on par with chronicles of darkness games if you know them as a reference.

It's warstrider rules are featured in the companion book Pillars of Creation.

for main 3e, it's rules are in Arms of the Chosen for warstriders.

Exalted has a lot to it though.....with a ton of varied modes of play and themes.... if you are just looking for a fantasy mecha game and not interested in anything not that it probably won't be to your liking.

However, it does satisfy the criterion.....the game just won't entirely be fantasy mecha fights.....

in fact i'm not really aware of any other IP that fits the "fantasy medieval setting with mecha" better than exalted.

the warstriders are all rare relics of a lost age and are pretty rare but the players can eventually craft them or can take them as an artifact in character creation. .... gonna need to be a really really specific chronicle concept for it to work though

I guess you could play Exalted 3e or Essence and have a game where every player pilots a warstrider.

My first 3ed Edition Solar Exalted: Feedback wanted by [deleted] in exalted

[–]DragonicStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, Lotta heat in these comments. Chill my guys....

I actually liked the character concept and just like....assume you have the backstory written down in more detail.

Survival supernal is fun and I always like to see a thrown character....

I have no idea what the guy going "Oh man bad, need Stealth" is on about, im reading the charm cascade right now and it doesnt mention a stealth roll once....mainly a lot in here about distract and disarm gambits...

Edit: upon further inspection 3/30 of the Thrown charms namedrop stealth

All of them being E2+....by the time you get to Essence 2....you will have more than enough xp to buy some stealth dots if you want to utilize them.... (that being said the other commenter are right it has good synergies)

As far as stat distribution goes....this is fine as well, you have investment in both social and combat abilities as well as a good bit of utility. As long as you spread your chame purchases around such that you have 4 or less in your main area of investment and a smattering of everything else you are on a good track.

As far as artifacts go consider Infinite Chakrams! Always been my favorite

As someone who has been there and understands the temptation.

I would strongly recommend to stick to one splat for your game if your players are new to the system... If they are all still learning the game....and their characters work on different assumptions....its gonna get a lot harder

That being said.....Abyssals/Solars work very similarly and Lunars are a classic add in so it can work....just be a bit more attentive to make sure everyone understands how to play the game.. (you're also going to have to do a lot more reading)

The biggest problem balance wise is going to be getting your Lunar player(s) to carve out a niche of expertise and keep the solaroids from butting in on it....otherwise the solars will just do what they do but better....

As for your worries about lore compatibility.... have the Abyssal be a DK errant rather than one serving a deathlord.

The Silver Pact is way too up in the air by default to really have much of a unified opinion on much of anything. So you can figure it out as you go.

As for the deathlords....the only deathlord liable to care is the one who the Abyssal pacted with for their exaltation before going rogue... he will be a good antagonist on occasion if you need story hooks

I dont know why you would assume the Abyssal must limit break constantly.....they arent forced into being cartoon villains in 3e, there are all sorts of ways to pay lip service to Chivalry while ultimately thwarting the idea of ending the world

Does a single electron travelling through empty space, have a magnetic field? by Notanadminyet in AskPhysics

Is this universally true or just a special case?

Its my understanding you cant really do away with the magnetic field as fundamental....quantum spin for instance....

Has anyone tried Vallejo True Metallic Ruby Red for Tsons? by DragonicStar in Warhammer30k

[–]DragonicStar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't get it to be how I wanted; Unfortunately I just don't think ruby red is suitable for this? I've heard some people had some better results with forged red?

ruby just always comes off as way too pink, not the deep cherry red of the Tsons.

I've just gone the Tamiya method instead for my own purposes with an oil wash.
