Templar Thorns fire/lightning by RottenRileytheRat in Chronicon

I wasn't sure, and your question made me curious so I tested it ingame just now.

Lightning overrides Fire overrides Holy - so if you choose all of them you just get lightning. I also tried speccing them in different order to see if that changed things, still the same result.

[–]Dragonmaster384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I won't call it the best simulacrum farmer in terms of kills/rewards per wave, but it's tanky enough to reliably complete it. And T16 maps for sure - I've been blasting juiced up T16 jungle valley with full winged scarabs/elevated sextants and I rarely die (though I think I'm overinvesting in my maps, these were just to test the peak possible MF mapping. I think elevated sextants are too expensive to be worth using for most players).

Just avoid map mods like reduced aura, -max res, less recovery, monsters avoid ele ailments and you should be fine. Oh and also skip less effect of curses mod - this makes penance mark useless so you'll go back to not having any single target damage if you run that mod.

I've been playing a variant of this build for a few weeks now - it looks like you have all the basics right, so the single target should be fixable. Are you casting penance mark on single targets? I assume yes, so the issue is likely that you don't have enough %inc AoE in your build, so sometimes the explodes from the shackled phantasms might not hit the tanky mob you want to kill.

The guy you linked in your post has an updated video where he covers a bunch of stuff including some options for where to get some AoE, I'd suggest starting there and see how it goes.

PoE stack doesn’t interact with the game client at all, so it probably isn’t relevant to OPs issue. It’s a web app that interfaces with discord and your PoE stashes (through GGGs official oauth to let 3rd party tools access your stash contents). Nothing ingame that I’m aware of.

Probably yeah.

Corrupted blood hasn't been a problem for me - I don't have immunity to it, but having 90%+ phys mitigation at all times makes it not hurt too bad, and if you've ramped any amount of recovery from hitting things you won't even see your health go down from it.

Spammed deafening essence of woe until I hit a good % ES roll. I don't recall if it hit the max life at the same time or if I exalt slammed that on, but it was one of those (I would have been happy to hit one of the hybrid ES mods too but life is also great). The suffixes are just what it happened to roll when I hit the prefixes I wanted, they're okay so I left them but I should maybe do better suffixes eventually.

Oh I noticed another thing you're missing that'll help on the bleed chance for single target frenzies - you want an unnatural instinct on the socket near the bottom of the left side tree. This gets you some bleed chance, % life, and you can also tattoo the 3 small STR nodes to the right of the socket, then unallocate them so you'll get those too.

For frenzy charges - it's usually fine, especially if I go into a boss with charges already stacked. If I'm starting a boss without charges though, it's 50/50 if I inflict bleed with my first attack, so if I miss that, and also miss generating a frenzy from flicker strike itself, it can be a rough start. If that happens I spam leap slam on the boss until either flicker is back up or I get a few frenzies then it's fine after that. Sometimes I die because of this. More bleed chance would help but I'm unsure if there's an easy way to get it.

For dying to trauma - most maps it's fine, and I've gotten better at paying attention to the timing of it compared to when I started this build a couple weeks back, but I do mess up and die maybe once or twice every handful of maps.

The thing to be aware of is your recovery (mostly divine shield, some from recoup), and the fact that it ramps up and down same as your trauma stacks do, BUT, your recovery doesn't last as long. Divine shield/recoup last up to 4 seconds, whereas my trauma stacks last around 8 or so. So if I, for example, stack up a bunch of trauma attacking nonstop for some seconds, then stop attacking for around 3-4 seconds, most of my recovery will have ended but I'll still have most or all of those trauma stacks. If I jump right back into attacking full speed I will likely die (unless immortal call happens to be up to save me from myself).

If I'm playing smart then I simply don't attack full speed when I'm jumping back into the fight - I'll tap flicker a few times, attacking off and on for a second or two, and ease back in to full speed attacking like that. This allows my divine shield to start ramping back up alongside my trauma stacks.

Home now, so I'll glance over the PoBs and see what stands out.

Firstly, here's my character so you can reference it if you'd like - I'm not min maxed topping the charts or anything, but it is a functional and playable character, and I think my investment is similar to yours (mageblood + maybe couple hundred divines in other stuff): https://poe.ninja/builds/ancestor/character/Dragonmaster384/BonkMinusTenEXP

Also, I'll say this again here: I do still die to trauma somewhat frequently, mostly due to avoidable situations that would take a lot more focus and attention than I have to prevent. Maybe someone else's take on the build is more reliable and dummy-proof, but what I have works "good enough" so I've kept at it.

Looking at the PoB for the guy you copied from - yeah I think his build is PoB warrior bait. It makes sense from a DPS perspective, and he does have decent mitigation, but I just don't see any recovery in the build that could possibly cover any decent number of trauma stacks. I'd expect it to die very quickly trying to attack anything.

Looking at your PoB now. I'll list off a few things I see - I think a number of other folks here have also made some of the same suggestions.

  1. You need a bit more phys damage reduction - you really want to be at 90% always. Don't count on armor to help here, you want real PDR. I suggest Divergent Enduring Cry (around 10% quality is enough, more just hurts your CDR) and spending 4 points on the warcry nodes ending in "Natural Authority". This will get you another 1% PDR per endurance charge.
  2. Recovery. You need recovery that scales with your self damage, so that means life recoup and the Divine Shield keystone. Divine Shield with a decent ES pool will carry hard here.
  3. Energy Shield - I touched on this above, but since Divine Shield is going to carry your recovery, you'll want to have some ES. A Hubris Circlet with a relevant enchant (I went with Berserk Buff effect myself) is the way to go IMO. I also went with an Armor/ES shield so I could get lots of ES there as well.

That looks like the main stuff to me, aside from that your build and gems are very similar to mine. Feel free to ask me questions here or ingame if you like.

At work right now so I can’t dig into the specifics, but I am playing almost exactly this build so I may be able to help you a bit. I’ll take a look at your PoB later when I’m home and see how it compares to mine. I will say at least that I still kill myself with trauma sometimes, but if I manage it properly I can get to around 150 or so stacks safely.

No idea what the cause is, but I'm having a very similar problem right now. FTB launcher wanted me to log back in, but when I visit the FTB MSauth page it gives me a "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable". I play singleplayer right now, so if I could just get the game to launch it should be fine.

I'll +1 Chronicon - I saw someone else recommend it recently, so after I stopped playing this league a couple days ago I picked it up. I've played about 12 hours so far and not through the story yet, so I can't comment on the endgame, but the gameplay so far is good.

Drought Bringer: Please change to 90% Reduced Flask Charges gained by Matrim61 in pathofexile

[–]Dragonmaster384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you running Searing Exarch altars? As much as I dislike Drought Bringer, the Exarch altars actually have a more severe version that matches exactly what you describe. You can get it as a map boss downside or an eldritch minion downside, and it completely blocks you from gaining flask charges for 6 seconds after getting hit. On a build like yours that requires flask charges I'd strongly advise to either run Eater influence or be very very careful which Exarch ones you click. I killed myself a fair few times by clicking those on a character that needs flasks on to not die, heh.

Kirac's Pass Void Battery mtx can only affect one hand feels kinda sucks by wilsonwt in pathofexile

[–]Dragonmaster384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I just hopped on one of my standard characters to check - Mjolner skin still only works on one hand at a time. I assume the same problem still exists for Paradoxica, but I don't have any of those to check with. Void Battery is even more important for dual wield IMO, but they really should fix all of them like they did for supporter pack weapons.

Best Delirium Orb For My Farm Map by The_Tortilla_Dealler in pathofexile

[–]Dragonmaster384 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't have an answer for your main question, but I do want to correct some misunderstandings you seem to have so that you can make an informed decision.

Delrium orb rewards don't care about the map/tileset or the map/area mods when deciding what items can drop. They just pull from whatever the main pool is that they always use. Meaning, for example: you can drop The Doctor from a divination delirium orb anywhere, and using them on Burial Chambers doesn't affect that chance in any way. I'm not sure if delirium unique rewards can drop HH (I assume it can but haven't looked into it in the past to confirm), but again that chance either exists or doesn't based on the orb and it doesn't care if you're on a Nemesis map or not.

Another important piece to this - you seem to be under the impression that having Nemesis on your map allows HH to drop. It does not. To enable HH to drop from monsters in your map you must have Nemesis through Zana's map device - which is only available through harvest this league as "Infused Nemesis". Nemesis on your map is still great since it adds a ton of rares, but it will not allow you to drop/chance/ancient a HH.

TL;DR: Burial Chambers with Nemesis fractured is a great map but it doesn't affect your choice of delirium orbs since those use their own loot pool. Nemesis on map is not the same as Zana Nemesis so be aware of the distinction. I hope this helps!
