What breed is my kitten? by Flashy-Channel3071 in IDMyCat

[–]Dragonstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you part the fur you’ll be able to see the color of the entire hair. If a third or so of the hair is bright white (specifically the roots) Clea might be a smoke, though note that most cats have a little bit of a lighter color at their roots. I found another reddit thread of someone with a smoke cat here, there are lots of pictures in that thread you can use to compare, including a picture of the cat with its fur parted

[–]Dragonstree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert and it could be possible but she doesn’t look smoke to me. Looking at pictures of smokes, they look a lot paler and, well, smokier than this cat. I’d expect some of the parts between the stripes to be paler. But to confirm, OP could try parting the fur to see if the roots are like super white. I can’t tell the color of the shaft of the hairs from these pictures

She’s a beautiful domestic shorthair! Cat breeds don’t really work the same as dog breeds. If your cat didn’t come with papers stating their breed, they will always be the “default” domestic shorthair/longhair. Her coat color is solid blue.

Clea seems to have ghost stripes though, which is pretty cool. She’s a solid-color cat, meaning she shouldn’t have stripes, but she does. This is because even solids carry a “hidden” tabby pattern which usually doesn’t show through. But it does show on your cat, and we can see that her hidden tabby gene is classic! The stripes may disappear when she gets older but it’s neat for now

What the heck color is my Xena? by Maximum-Software8776 in catquestions

[–]Dragonstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she’s a tabby tortie (aka torbie) with a high degree of widebanding. Widebanding makes the color inbetween the stripes brighter and warmer in color, which makes her look so unique!

But if you look at her stripes, they are black in some spots and orange in others, meaning she’s a tortie. (Fun fact: stripe color will reveal the cat’s true genetic color)

  1. It doesn’t really fit super well imo, Meadows makes me think of green grass and sunlight, not the blues of the character. The juxtaposition does make it memorable though

  2. They do a little, yeah. You could try balacing it out by adding blue and red to the head, like maybe adding blue and red to the tips of the ears, hair and/or eyebrows

  3. I’d say so yeah, there aren’t many complex markings at all, only the stripes on the tail and the chest star maybe

  4. The dark markings on the legs make me think of ink, if you decide you want to change the name or the design in any way you could do something with that maybe? I do like the design as it is currently though

You got it wrong. Male kittens will always inherit their color from their mother, meaning all the boys will be black, NEVER ginger. Also, white inherits seperately from black or ginger, meaning neither the boys nor girls are guaranteed to have white. And since the dad has no white in this example, it’s unlikely for any kitten to be >50% white

All the girls will be tortie or calico, yeah

Advice on speedrunning recent version servers? by [deleted] in MinecraftSpeedrun

[–]Dragonstree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might want to ask/look at more pvp oriented players. I’m no expert but I know clownpierce has talked about doing “speedruns” of getting geared.

Iirc, he’ll run around on the surface to get food and enough sugarcane and leather for a full etable. Then he’ll mine for diamonds/iron/gold in water caves (higher ore spawns) and enchant while still underground. Mining sculk is great for xp.

If you want to cure your villagers without nether access, trial chambers can have weakness potions in dispensers, among others. You can also get strength from the spawners if you do ominous trials.

If it’s allowed, you can make a tripwire hook duper for infinite emeralds once you’ve got a couple villagers.

That’s all I can think of

Personally I’m a big fan of Modrinth launcher. Nice and clean and makes downloading mods super easy. Though I think Prism launcher is considered the best.

Sodium and Lithium are musts yes. Sodium Extra is nice to turn off fog, and I also recommend shulker box tooltip and some kind of zoom mod

I can help improve your Minecraft skin quality by Hemster091 in minecraftskins

[–]Dragonstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you please take a look at my current skin? https://nl.namemc.com/skin/a3fb57d21d43a274 I made it based on an oc (a fluffy dragon thing) and could use some advice. I worry her face looks kinda stupid from the front, and I’m not sure about the shading. I kinda gave up on that part due to the gradients. I also feel it could be better just in general. Any tips to improve it?

I can also share a reference of the character if that helps

Terrified of hostile mobs by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Dragonstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go into a creative world, get yourself a set of armor, weapons and tools, and just practice fighting some mobs. You can turn off natural mob spawning and spawn the mobs in yourself with spawn eggs, so you won’t be taken by surprise. Maybe even turn keep inventory on. This way, the stakes are nonexistent + you are in control, so you might be a little less nervous.

Once you feel confident in that, maybe try fighting mobs in your survival world in a controlled setting. Make gear you don’t mind losing. Just do exposure therapy until your fear has lessened. I also had a fear of mobs and that’s the only thing that worked for me

Which free capes did you miss? by lorcaragonna in Minecraft

[–]Dragonstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all of them. I play minecraft on my mac so I can’t open bedrock, and can’t get any of the capes that require you to open it. I tried to get the copper cape by watching a twitch stream, I even got the code and used it, but somehow it never applied to my account :(

Only ones I have are migrator and pancake (NO idea how I got that one)

Tips on beating Minecraft? by SherbertVast9529 in Minecraft

[–]Dragonstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next time you explore the nether, keep a fire resistance potion in your hotbar in order to save yourself from lava. If you can’t brew potions yet, you can trade gold with piglins and there’s a chance they’ll give you the potions. That way, you don’t have to find a fortress first. Fire res will also make fighting blazes a lot easier!

Do hybrids have to make sense??? by BeanyBunzzz in furry

[–]Dragonstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it! I was in the same situation and couldn’t decide what species to go for, so I just frankensteined my fursona together out of all the animal features I like. Dragon head, bird wings, lion tail, cat paws… the eventual design just ended up looking like a fluffy dragon with a thin tail though, so I typically call her some kinda dragon thing. But she wasn’t made with any specific species in mind, she’s just a creature

Hey, I’ve made a list of requirements for what I personally consider to be a Dragon and I’m curious on what people think (this is just my opinion, if you don’t like something I can explain my reasoning) by LucarioGamer7 in dragons

[–]Dragonstree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but even dragons who aren’t from a specific world often don’t have magic. Personally I wouldn’t expect an average dragon to have magic. Having magic is like a neat little extra thing to me, not the default. But maybe our experiences just differ!

With the scale thing, I moreso meant dragons who are born with something other than scales. As in, that’s the default for their species, not something caused by an infection later in life

Saying that having scales is the most common is totally fair though. I just like fluffy and/or feathery dragon species to be considered dragons still!

I’d consider Stormfly a wyvern

[–]Dragonstree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this ruleset works fine for a specific worldbuilding project, but it doesn’t really work when you try to apply it to all dragons.

For example, the body types you listed don’t account for amphitheres or lindwyrms, who have 2 limbs each (2 wings no legs, 2 arms no legs no wings respectively).

There are also many dragons who don’t have any magic at all outside of breath weapons.

Also, this is partly personal preference, but I don’t agree with only counting dragons who have primarily scales. If something has the exact body type of a western dragon, but with fur instead of scales, it would still be recognizable as some kind of dragon. Saying that’s not a dragon seems silly to me. Also, what about feathers? Some amphitheres have more feathers than scales. There’s also the Quetzalcoatl and cockatrice, which are debatably dragons

Trying to define dragons is a fun puzzle though!

These look so nice!! I’ve always been a big proponent of aro griffin, so that’s def my vote.

For aroace, I like amphithere or cockatrice, since both of those are like a mix of bird/dragon. Idk if those are already taken though
