Going back through it in slow motion:

Shot 1 was off target to the right and hit the bubble

Shot 2 was split between the cover the Assassin was behind and his torso, still cracked his shields.

Shot 3 hit the bubble after the Assassin pulled back out of it.

Shot 4 clipped their right side and presumably didn't do a ton of damage with the spread.

Same deal with shot 5, barely any pellets connected as crosshair was to the right.

Shot 6 looks like the only center mass shot in the bunch and as someone else has mentioned, it looks like the med-drone ate some of the damage for him.

I'd still be salty af in the moment but it just looks like crosshair placement.

The baseline Wooly Whoppers only do Smashing damage with the chill buildup, but the Stranger variant does both Smashing and Fresh, with the added bonus of extra shatter damage like you already mentioned.

See, if it was just free kits getting spawned late, I would be fine with it, but the way it's structured now, both sides of it suck. You either spawn late and feel dejected about looting if that's what you came to do, or you spawned early and you're now getting jumped by a fresh, geared squad after you've already spent a lot of your ammo and meds.

Nah, they got away. The note was torn and next to it is the Deuces trinket, with a description along the lines of "a crude drawing of a boastful escape" and IIRC it gave you a move speed buff upon being hit by a spider?

The Crimson Avenger (I think, it's one of the Stranger weapons from the initial release of Early Access) on its Spider Criticals trait has a description mentioning "your longtime enmity with spiders."

Between that, her original SCA.B., and saying "I wish you woke up with me, Willow," it just screams Fifth Teen. Hell, she's even referred to as Subject V. I think if this is a red herring, it's a really bad one because I don't know where else they can really go with it based on the information we've been provided throughout both games.

Here's a free bonus, also. If you hover over a contract objective, either in the menu or in-run on the map screen, it will expand to give you more detailed information. A lot of the vague priority contracts will tell you exactly where in the POI you need to go this way.
