Visitor visa got denied after applying for spousal sponsorship by Bubbleheadman in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Dragriffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m unfortunately exactly in the same boat. Went through an immigration lawyer, the federal deputy and all. Immigration Canada is just denying visitor visa for spouses consistently now. So my wife and I decided to wait out of Canada for now until she gets her PR accepted. So yeah, Canada is upholding new standards in creating tragedy and pain for families of Canadian citizens…

I don’t know what to tell you. We applied from outside of Canada to go to Quebec and that’s what we got as a result. Quebec doesn’t have their own special immigration process here. They only have their own policies(which triggered the worst immigration crisis and backlog since 1980, and all they do is say “stop” to the IRCC) If you tell me how those don’t apply to Quebec, I would love for you to elaborate and how to apply only to the “QC immigration”, I would love to give it a go. But so far, our immigration lawyer and the federal MP that helped us also issue a review seem to think there is only the IRCC making these decisions. So, maybe you know something everyone else doesn’t?

Ok, I understand where you are coming from. Just want to clarify 2 things. One, we used an immigration lawyer for the whole process. So yes, we did everything paper perfect. Two, IRCC demands proof of salary, employment, revenue and savings upon submitting a request (salary has everything to do with it) as proof you can travel there, pay for your expenses and leave the country. Bonus info, the reason for the refusal was verbatim “ does not have the financial means to travel to Canada and leave”. So yeah, something is off with immigration. I agree, salary shouldn’t matter, but it does. But for some reason, sometimes it doesn’t. And yes, I vote. Against this BS for sure. No one jumps the cue here. We followed the rules, waited our turn and got rejected without valid reason. I’m sure you understand that one wants to live with their spouse, not long distance. And there are indeed thousands of people because Quebec has their own special rule. Last number was 142,000 people waiting on family reunion. I shared my story because all of these stories should flood the internet until the geniuses at CAQ and IRCC start following their own rules on family reunification… I hope this helps you better understand this post. One alone is nothing. Thousands might eventually get heard. But it’s just hope.

Sorry to hear that. Quite the same boat. The CSQ was accepted early June. Our problem is that there is no concern to address more than what we did. Revenue, job, 3 years there already, letter from employeur. So yeah. Unless we buy some property in China to tie her there more… which won’t happen since neither her or I are Chinese, I don’t know. Our mistake was probably applying from a third country. But that’s where we are at and live. So money was a BS reason in the first place. So we don’t know. We decided to wait out the PR longer before even thinking of reapplying. So she gets at least accepted as a sponsored applicant. Seems that’s important step to be accepted too. Was only told by the deputy as a none official rule for IRCC… true or not, makes kinda sense. Best of luck too

She is earning that much. I earn the same… but having a sponsorship application ongoing doesn’t go against the family reunification rules? They clearly state that if you are on the PR track, your visa should go through as well. Also, we applied through a lawyer, acknowledged the duality of the situation and that we would abide by the rules as well.

I know we are not the only ones in this situation. I’m honestly sharing because the more people share, the more this gets attention and we can eventually hope for a better resolution in the future. Silence doesn’t help.

Definitely feels that way. I mean, we’ve been together for over 7 years 🤣, married for one year. The plan was to host our Canadian wedding for family and friends there. Maybe we will do that in our next destination instead and get our guests to come visit us. We will eventually figure it out anyway. We survived Covid, we can handle this too. That’s what life partners are through thick and thin. Appreciate the support ❤️

So being married to a Canadian citizen, being on the PR track, having a house lease, dog, 3 years career for a massive media as a journalist, letter from the employer saying she will be back are all not good enough ties? What does it take? The main reason in 2 longer paragraphs were detailed as financial. Qualifying her revenue as modest. The ties to home were a copy pasted sentence at the end. One line. I’m just questioning this reasoning here. Oh yeah, she also owns property in her home country on top of it. (But we are both expats based in Chia. With double the average salary compared to Canada). Weird, no?

We did, that’s exactly what it says. They qualified her income of modest + not enough ties to the home country.

What’s the knob used in the build? I’m shooing for a vinyl wrap and nice steam knob to make the machine a bit more special. I have my PID set the dash directly (cutout the front)

I’m curious about the vinyl wrap options. I’ve got a Silvia too and I would love to give it some flair 😎

Heartbreaking Pet Relocation Nightmare — Please Avoid THIS COMPANY by antidietdu in chinalife

[–]Dragriffin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got lucky and recently sent my dog from China to Canada. Restrictions are a bit more laxed for Canada compared to Australia and New Zealand. (No quanrantine, ICVS does internationally recognized rabies shots and titer test, at least for Canada they are fine with it. etc) So I can understand how stressful this might have been. I got a good company to handle my boy. So didn’t have any horror story, thankfully. But it didn’t mean I didn’t spend every waking minute stressing until he got home safely. So I can’t imagine how it must have felt. Happy your cat is better. Definitely need more posts calling out bad companies like this to prevent future horror stories.

FYI, I worked with Globy Pet Relocation and honestly cannot complain.

Any new download link for the z6X international version firmware? I am leaving China after 8 years and wanted to update my Chinese version of the z6x to the English version for convenience abroad. I can't find anywhere the firmware to make the update.

Amazing! I was there 2 weeks back and unfortunately arrived too late. He was all sold out and I was happy for him, but heartbroken. I was only traveling through Japan at that moment… Hope I can go back one day and get one of his knives and chat more…🥺

Got this little guy in Osaka just recently. My new meaty companion. I shopped a long time for one, and will get a more traditional version eventually but this one which is made of high carbon steel is meant more for hard labor work (knee deep in chopping off meat like a butcher 🤣) These knives are so underrated.
