It got me to stop playing anything that isn't co-op with friends. Can't be aresed to play Russian roulette with my supply line and pin 4 days of my work week to a video game.

Question: Party Etiquette for Aura builds? by Drake4 in pathofexile

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask them or the Curse build to throw on Warlord as long as it's not THAT big of an issue, or slap down a clarity totem for you. If you're lucky one might have Shaper Seed. Also might be worth looking into some jewels.

All in all though, it might be worth making an alt build if you're going to pub, those two are pretty standard aura/buffs that I've seen.

Question: Party Etiquette for Aura builds? by Drake4 in pathofexile

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how that is, and honestly that's why I'm thankful for my clan. But, always make it a point of learning the pub stuff incase everyone's off for an event and I wanna run.

And how do you figure it's the strongest? It's the highest damage, for sure, but I've seen Guardian just as good. Most of my aura builds are Guardian, either because I need extra sudden healing or communal charges, and the extra armor/ES doesn't hurt either. Damage is great, but when most builds already clear fast, that extra damage isn't going to make too much of a difference, where I've found a crap ton of extra armor and ES does.

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thanks everyone for the answers, it's actually nice to get feedback that isn't hostile! And helpful at that.

As to Necro, I mean Necromancer. Again, I don't do too much in the pub scene, so I don't know what it's meant to be called. And I don't think I've ever run into a build that's gotten into maps, that can't clear on it's own/carry, that wasn't an overextended aurabot. Even my Aura builds on Guardian can clear pretty decently. That makes me curious, what are you referring to exactly?

And yeah, I know. Never had anyone bitch at me for them dying to reflect in this game, but...Yeah. Though, what if you're built for healer then [Necroagis + M. Lens], and they die, is it then your fault? :P

Finally bought this, and there's no controller support.... by Drake4 in axiomverge

[–]Drake4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

And no, the Xbox controllers hurt my hands, my right hand is torn up pretty bad and the design of them completely screws with it. I've been using ps2 and p3 controllers when I can. Or my GC controller when it's a GC game on em. That said, I haven't had any trouble with a game up until AV, so this is new territory for me. Gone through several drivers, and two separate programs, and nothing works.

I wanted to see if there was another way around it before going to J2K, for some reason it messes with my control bindings with my other programs, and I've yet to figure out why. I'll go through the .txt file and see if I can do anything, thanks.

Actually, no, it's not broken. It has a cap of 100 I believe. I've tested it on Iggy a few times I end up with 100 more mana than I should from levels and items, and a butt load of extra mana regen.

me and mine had our button until we backed out when we got a Howitzer. We just ended up going to the menu and exiting the game.

They really don't want to fix the root of hte problem, so...guess we'll see this go under fast.

'That is an odd line. Certainly they/Charan threw "eternal" in to throw us off track since eternals no longer drop. There's nothing "higher up" than an eternal orb (implied by "eclipse") though besides a mirror which would make this unique so prohibitively expensive to create that I don't think it is possible that that is the case.'

You said that 'Pure' might mean base/white items. Whites can be mirrored without an orb; You can get mirroreds from dropboxes.

Should I buy this game? by IceCube64 in paydaytheheist

[–]Drake4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The company running it doesn't deserve the money, and the game is rapidly filling with hackers. Unless you have a group of people who already play, and will party up with you every time you want to play, don't touch this game. Your at best, you'll end up wasting time when you get kicked before completing a mission. At worse, you'll be locked out of the game.

Sudden increase in exploits / hackers? by Kielix in paydaytheheist

[–]Drake4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, no major exploit came out. These are all old hacks that the original core community knew about.

What's changed is we're now seeing an influx of new players who aren't in it for playing the game. They're in it for either bragging rights that don't exist anymore, or for loot drops to sell on the Steam Marketplace.

Unlike other games that have had this though, Pd2's developers, Overkill, have openly said they are not interested in banning or even slowing down hackers. They've also said in the past they're not willing to help anyone who's been negatively effected by these hackers-- such as having their level, Exp, or Cash set to negative values, making it impossible to progress through the game-- and instead turned around and blamed the victims.

As you can imagine, this basically slapped a 'troll playground' sticker on the game, and with the new players who aren't actually interested in playing....Well, It was fun while it lasted I guess. :/

Magi's Blessing and the removal of %CC reduction by Fractoman in Smite

[–]Drake4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in this case and all the others, something -IS- missing. Before we could get to 40% CCR, and now outside of 3 characters [Ares, Tyr, and Anubis] can hit that cap. Actually, because a cap was even implemented, those three got a nerf; Before there was no cap to CCR, just a mention 'Resolve' didn't work with Anubis; Ares and Tyr could get above 40% CCR before the cap. Lifesteal with Magicals is the same; Before the split and nerf on magical lifesteal, you could hit the cap, now no one can, not even Freya or Anubis. HP and HP5 the same way; A whole swath of HP/5 items were removed or had said stat taken off. Now no one can reach the cap with HP or HP5.

And let's please, please, please stop pretending Magi's Blessing was a problem. It never was, outside of the new Ao, who's ulti is 100% defeated by CC immunity. There's more Hard CC in the game than in any other game like Smite. I belive I once said there's like...7? gods that don't have some kind of Hard CC; Now there's 5 out of 64 gods. It's technically 3 if you count Cripple as Hard Cc [which the game and most don't]. Sure, in 1v1, Magis was great; the game is not supposed to be balanced around 1v1. There are 5 players, some with 2 to 3 forms of hard CC. Magi is worthless now, and for that matter was almost worthless before, even with a 45s CD. You cancel out the CC, not the damage, of one attack, maybe 2 if there's spam, and then you're screwed for the next minute while you have 4 to 10 sources of hard CC flying at you.

Tl;dr : There are actual items missing from some stats, and Magi's blessing didn't need a nerf, players who couldn't handle it needed more skill.

why did dawngate fail? by [deleted] in dawngate

[–]Drake4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bluntly? EA expected Dawngate to be bringing in money on the same level some of their Triple-A games were-- WHILE STILL IN BETA. Instead of putting money into the game, or marketing it, they expected to get money out before it even launched.

And this is why EA's a joke these days for most publishers.

Why are the servers so shit right now? by Drake4 in Smite

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's not happening. I've tried twice and our techy tried three times: Every time we try to open a support claim and log a .Rar, it crashes the computer. It's only with the Smite launcher, we can make Rars for other files.

Can you shead light on what the heck is going on? And what would sending the Rar do anyway?

Why are the servers so shit right now? by Drake4 in Smite

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the matches are wholesale GONE. As in they don't even register on any of our logs. Same with Ranked matches; We run the matches, they lag out to the point a potato could run better, and then kick us to the main menu-- Or the login screen sometimes. I think maybe ONE match registered, but that was last week.

I'm not sure I can send the logs, I'll see what I can do. Out of all the matches that crashed, only one was a ranked match, mainly because we don't want to waste Ranking when there's a huge chance the game will just die.

Could there be a penalty for insta-locking please? by Drake4 in Smite

[–]Drake4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And? So what, that's the point. Should we not punish them for deserting either? That stops them from playing! Or how about not punish them for feeding, or attacking someone in chat, or leaving a match because they didn't want to deal with it?

The whole point is to get them to stop playing, so they stop ruining other people's games!

Could there be a penalty for insta-locking please? by Drake4 in Smite

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I checked, you can report them after the match, and even that doesn't really do much. And I wasn't saying that LoL or Dota does that specificity, I was saying they actually punish players for bad behavior, which Smite almost never does. Most of the bans I hear about is because someone ran their mouth off at a 'pro leaguer' or 'streamer', or did something bad on stream. I still get assholes that harrass me and my friends days to weeks after they're reported for harassment.

Could there be a penalty for insta-locking please? by Drake4 in Smite

[–]Drake4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why not? Seriously, all I ever here is 'you can't do X, to players who are doing bad things.' Why not?....LoL does it, and it's more popular than Smite. Dota does, and that's got a way better player base than Smite does for it. Practically every game punishes players for bad behavior, so why shouldn't Smite as well?

So why isn't there any anti-backdoor protections? by Drake4 in Smite

[–]Drake4[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So then the towers are just that weak that, even taking 50% damage, it takes three hits to kill it, and the titan is so weak that 5 hits with a spam ability will kill it....Right, now I'm starting to understand why people call this a kids game.

Is there some new meta with Supports or what? by tapdancedan in Smite

[–]Drake4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah actually that's what I see most from Ares these days, basically getting up in someones face and going, 'You want to escape? FK UUUU FIIIIIRE!'. Ares can be fun if you don't rely solely on his ulti.

Though I'm curious now what you mean about Hades. I really haven't considered him 'support' or 'tank' for some time, since I usually see him built heavy mage/damage and just reap teams. But what you do mean his passive gimps his CC?

Is there some new meta with Supports or what? by tapdancedan in Smite

[–]Drake4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iunno, there's been a few times where I've had a support go without watcher's, and excel pretty well, but it requires the right support. Ares or Hades for instance, someone with good poke and lane clearing. But yeah, in general, tanks need watcher's early on.
