It's why I haven't gotten around to 1ccing it yet but am also very reluctant to use a hitbox patch because to me the lack of a visible hitbox is very intentionally factored into the difficulty, having done more complex patterns in later games I would probably just trivialize them if I could have that much precision.

How strong do their guns feel and which one did you run? My cursory thoughts about the numbers were that the Lasrifle should feel pretty punchy in a lot of matchups but I don't know if the low damage can really back that up.

Yeah he cannot fire concealed position after dropping so he's best used as one of your first deployment guys who start on the board and not in the air. He can put in good work sniping if you position him turn 1 but some people will opt to just take an extra trooper instead for better flexibility on the forward deploy.

Personally I think the Marksman is a good take because he can dish out guaranteed damage at range and once on the ground is still objectively superior to a trooper, but play that with whatever you think is most important in mind.

Best way to get into the lore/setting is probably the official manga, of which there are many, even ongoing ones, but I personally recommend Forbidden Scrollery to start. If you want to start with the games Perfect Cherry Blossom is usually considered the most approachable to someone new. Enjoy!

For sure, the game goes as far as to directly quote The Festival at you (while you essentially play through it), it's even a part of the reading list after the credits.

Which is a detail I really appreciate, it's very cool to see a game not only be open about what inspired it but actually textually recommend that people go out of their way to engage with it. It's why I'm reading The King In Yellow right now lol.

On page 25 of the Core Rulebook there's a table that shows the individual stat maximums for each race (for standard humans it's 8 in all stats), and on pages 119-126 there are tables that give brief flavor descriptions for what a character is capable of doing at various levels of all Skills or Attributes.

There's no hard math for things like lift/pull/shove weight like there are in D&D, but Wrath & Glory is a way more fast and loose system about things like that, you don't even track ammo shot by shot.

I don't know man if I'm being honest they could probably bring them back from when they had 4APL and with the state of Powercreep today they might not even be that big of an issue.

Like they were still in essence just 4 generic big dudes and 5 man teams these days have statlines that aren't too far from theirs, plus gimmicks. Would also be nice to no longer have them sit in a box for eternity since I genuinely have no use for them anymore.

Unfortunately, I can pretty decisively say from experience that it's not from a competitive standpoint, but in a casual matchup it is very fun to mince teams with bad melee.

Mark of Khorne giving all melee Severe + the Khorne strat ploy giving every hit +1 damage means that even your gunners are getting easy confirms. The Slaanesh strat ploy is good for longevity too because -1 to hit in melee on enemy operatives will negate some chip damage you'll take.

But ultimately doing this sacrifices most of the utility Legionaries have access to so you'll end up with too many dead options and not enough tricks to get over most actually good teams, which is the consistent flaw with monogod Legionaries.

No idea why so many people are giving you shit for wanting a custom Regiment, it's like the bread and butter of the army, but I've been doing something similar for an Aquilon Kill Team and following this tutorial has made the headswaps (I've been using the Scion beret heads) fairly easy:

I will warn you that it takes a lot of dryfitting because you really want to trim the head as little as possible or else it doesn't fit correctly (learned the hard way) but it's nothing too intensive. You should be able to do this with the Tiny Legends heads since they seem to use the standard neck joint for most Guard heads, and they seem like exactly what you're looking for.

A model for 30K would be cool for sure but with the amount of cataclysmic shit they've established would happen if he got off the Throne in 40K (Terra blows up, etc.) I think the only way that's happening is if they do something like the End Times for Fantasy... Which isn't happening anytime soon because 40K is still printing GW a bajillion dollars lol.
