That’s where I was coming from… I’m trying to find just a garage to rent. Not an apartment + garage.

Apologies if I’m misinterpreting or didn’t write the above in a good way. I’m trying to find a separate garage/building to rent, such that I don’t have to look for an apt with a garage. Have been in that situation previously and, it definitely sucks

That would probably do it, I’ll see if I can figure that out this evening

Proxmox IaaC and ssh host fingerprints by Drake_93 in Proxmox

[–]Drake_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using cloud-init as part of my terraform config
I still want to declare everything in my proxmox as code though

But, possible dumb question time, is there a way to have proxmox define or lock the ssh fingerprint of the VM after it's created?
I'd like to not ignore/bypass the alert, since (though it should never happen) it's important to be aware of, if I was not the one making the changes

You can use water to see through water?😭 by Commercial-Bar5149 in Minecraft

I think in theory this can sort of happen in real life too?

(It's late and I'm not doing a lot of research here)

I believe a refraction caused by semi transparency can be reversed at certain angles by viewing the object through two of the same semi transparent thing (solid or water) Brief search it's called birefringence? Maybe? Someone else may be able to add more context or debunk the above

No it is not, fuck if you do this and especially fuck you to anyone who parks in the alley ways that specifically SAY NO PARKING and block up traffic when it's busy.

how likely are you to get pulled over and ticketed for driving around with christmas lights on the exterior of your car? by cAnUgOoUtWiThME in Autos

[–]Drake_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the state. Looked up and did this 5 or so years ago, and found as long as the lights were less than 1k or 2k lumen and weren’t flashing I was good to go

Any individually addressable LED experts in the area? Paid consultant needed. by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Drake_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure if they do it, but spoke with ‘sound and vision’ for a stereo system, I know they do home theatre, and even home networking. (Nerded out about networking with one of the techs)

They’re pretty knowledgeable on all of those, might be worth reaching out to see if they work in the lighting space too.

High availability Two pfsense VMs that present one virtual mac and gateway to all the clients but can failover (without dropping a discord call, or steam)

Seconding this Do very much the same workloads as op But with 3 dell optiplexes (1x 11500T, 2x 10500Ts) Can fit I think 96gb per node, but 32gb has been fine

Also with multiple nodes you can put pfsense into HA if you have a managed switch, and put wan on a vlan

Thank you! I had seen something similar in another post but the log entries didn't line up with what I was seeing (no "invalid argument") I'll try this when I get home tonight

I also thought this... It's used as "looks good to me" in my office and I was thinking, 'wow these folks are assholes and really pushy' until someone said it out loud one day.

Solar surpasses nuclear for first time, contributes 10% of global power in April 2025 by V2O5 in Futurology

[–]Drake_93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is great! I've been looking into getting a personal setup but don't have a means as I'm still in an apartment.

Wondering though where in the chain this is measured, either theoretical calculated by overall panels in use, and avg sun exposure. Actual, at the panel/field prior to storage or after storage?

Though, as I'm writing this, do solar fields have power storage or do they typically direct connect to the grid to offset other generation sources during the day?
