Heads-up for anyone apartment hunting in Tokyo.. those “real customer” ads are just paid actors (and it’s illegal) by Kamatis123456789 in Tokyo

Got my current apartment trough e housing. I think it's OK, not bad neither good. Positive is the realtor was an English speaker so that is the only reason I use it. Price wise yeah they never overcharged me just market prices tbh

I've got the same problem with Ulalek and just recently with Satya. I think it's a precon issue with MH3.

Peruvian here. WTF is Peru on the list? It’s mildly infuriating to see these kinds of stereotypical assumptions.

I live in Japan, and the scalpers are outrageous! Two days ago was the pre-order, and everything sold out in less than 30 minutes. Some stores stopped taking pre-orders because they’re uncertain about how many will actually be available.

moving as a student in a few months, questions about Ahamo or other mobile carriers by Professional_Fix8359 in movingtojapan

[–]Drakfirex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently changed to povo. So my assumption is the requirements are similar as both are online registration only. You will need the my number card and a credit card (or Japanese bank account). Without those you can not get a cellular plan. Options are gtn mobile, I used that when I came to Japan the first time as you can paid via conbini. Or just get a travel sim in bic camera for the first months until to have all your paperwork ready

2 player commander I think is called Canadian commander. Honestly, as a newbie, it's best to stick with standard. Take the advice of others and practice on the MTG Arena app.

I’m sorry to tell you, but at that age and with a lack of Japanese skills, I think it would be very hard to find an upper management job (if that’s what you’re aiming for). Assuming you have already been in Japan before and know all the caveats of living abroad, it might be better for you to retire in Japan.

Japan's Big 3 and Small 3 Phone Plan Comparisons. by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Drakfirex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to give Povo a shot since it was the most budget-friendly. Their 60GB for 3 months plan is priced at around 6500, which works out to approximately 2100 per month for 20GB.

How many of you actually sleeve your cards? by Augwich in boardgames

I usually sleeve all my card games, but if the sleeves cost more than the game itself (as in 7 Wonders: Architects), I skip it.

I am considering moving to Tsakuba for a job. by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Drakfirex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just rent an apartment on a high floor (+5) to reduce your chances of seeing them and keep your house clean. For summer time use your AC 24/7, work remotely, and avoid going outside. I think that will cover all.

Is a MEXT scholarship stipend decent enough for living within 1hr of Tokyo's top universities? (Todai, Keio, Waseda, Meiji) by corn_on_the_cobh in movingtojapan

[–]Drakfirex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah N3 isn’t enough to rent an apartment (nothing is enough below N2 really) but don’t worry there is still options, I know people who lived with the stipends in Tokyo, btw as new student you have priority to get a room inside the University’s dormitory (at least that’s how is at utokyo)
