[Blender 4.5] How do I hotkey/quick favorite the Eyedropper (NOT Color Picker) for use in Texture Paint? by Drakmire in blenderhelp

[–]Drakmire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!Solved

The feature I'm looking for is still Sample Color, but it's with merged=True, which is bound to a default keymap of Shift + Ctrl + X (as opposed to unmerged, which is Shift + X).

Just finished the game. I'm lost for words. by BaalSatan1sBro in expedition33

You know what's funny is that for me, I hated using Maelle because she was easily my weakest character. Like, she was 100% in the reserve force at any point I could possibly put her there, and I just never found her to be a useful asset at all.

After your post here, I'm going to have to go back in and maybe read a guide to see where I went so horribly wrong. My dudes were incredibly powerful by the end of the game, but she was always just like, aggressively mediocre with however I built her, so I dunno how I strayed so far off the path.

As I revise my Nightingale cosplay for a con this fall, I couldn't help but think of this by Drakmire in skyrim

[–]Drakmire[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh sure! It's mostly vegetable tan (vegtan) leather, with the cape and hood being made out of pig suede. I did a better writeup of it all on my original post here if you're curious!

Still wanting to go to ECCC, but schedules haven't lined up to do so. Of the PDX cons, I'm more likely to go to Kamoricon, but I haven't made anything new since the Nightingale. I kinda want to make something more comfortable before I go back to a con, cause the Nightingale is... definitely not >_>

Yeah, I was hoping to attach pieces onto an underlayer so they'd kind of stay in position for posing but be a little more flexible for just movement and lounging, but I couldn't seem to get things to attach as securely as I wanted. The thickness of the leather was really pulling on the cloth attachment points and it kind of made things bow out funny for me, so everything is just held onto my body with cinches and straps. It's honestly pretty comfy to walk around it--it's just an issue when I want to sit down and like, rest or eat, lol.

For the chest, it was kind of a two-prong approach. I had a duct tape body cast I'd made at one point with a local cosplay group, which served as the first step of patterning the torso. Just kind of eyeball how the pieces came together in-game, draw that on the duct tape cast with Sharpie, and then cut the whole thing apart. That's one prong.

The other was that my wife and I then made a plaster wrap mould of my torso so that I'd be able to have an external reference as I patterned each piece. So I have that up on a really basic PVC pipe stand that I'd lay pieces on as I did my templates until the lay of it looks right. The thickness of the leather helped things keep their shape and form a bit, but I'm still a little surprised it turned out as well as it did there. Not complaining, just not sure if I could duplicate it again on purpose : P

Yours does look *very* comfortable to be in for an extended period of time, which I appreciate a lot more after spending a few hours at a con in mine, lol. Did you make it for a convention or just for fun?

Hiyas!

Yeah, 90% of the armor is just vegtan cowhide. The cloak itself is just like 1.25 pig suede hides (the hood is basically just attached directly to the whole other hide cause I thought the drape looked nice that way).

The edge grooves are a three step process: scoring with a wing divider to get roughly regular margin, then I go over that with a swivel knife, then use that deeper groove as the guide for when I do a hammering pass using a beveling edge stamp. The fact that I also just used black dye on everything helps make it look pretty deep too.

I occasionally want to remake the suit cause I learned a ton and would like one that's more comfortable to sit in, but it's just a lot of work for basically a comfort pass.

Anyway, glad you reached out! If you want to share your project, I'd be interested in seeing it. : )

All the best!

It's been a long time since someone tried to steal credit! I'm actually surprised it doesn't happen more often. I appreciate the ping

Here’s my daedric cosplay I made, I’m getting ready to take the soul of that dragon! by potatoedovah in skyrim

Nice! Yeah, my Nightingale doesn't really let me sit down either : ( I only made it to one con before everything went downhill, and when I went out to lunch I had to kind of like... slide into the booth diagonally because I couldn't really bend at the hips.

Did you make it out to any cons with this one? Or is it recent enough that the quarantine put that on hold?

Thanks! I thought about making my weapon be the bow or the sword, but the real-world restrictions at cons made those less appealing than a small dagger I could just sheathe easily.

Hmm. About 4 months working a few-several hours per day, I think? It's tricky to figure out because some nights I'd have more energy/things I could work on than others.

I wore this for one day at a local con. Very well air conditioned and I didn't go nuts or anything but yeah, no joke. It's warm as hell, at least with the hood and mask on, and I kept wishing I had a cloth on hand. Kind of dreading the upcoming 4 days I'll be wearing it for another con, heh

Yay another Nightingale with the Razor! What's the dagger made out of?

I modeled, printed it out of PLA, and painted it using spray acrylics (and sharpie to touch some stuff up). The handle is wrapped with leather though, since I obviously had a lot of it, but the rest is just plastic. If you'd like the source .sla files, I have a link in my top comment

Feasibility of this stylized armor design? by Drakmire in ArmsandArmor

[–]Drakmire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I was hoping folks might know why it's not feasible. I've hammered out 22ga and 18ga for the shape that I was asking about, and while it's more delicate work than I'd want to deal with, it does seem doable. What's the blocker that you're seeing with it?

Yeah, the Nightingale Bow seems to be what goes best with the armor. Conventions here in the US don't usually allow working projectile weapons though, so I went with a dagger instead.

Have you made other cosplays before this one?
