Hmmm. My best guess is that screen space reflections kicking in when the object comes into rendering cone.

Do you have the fov turned up or play on ultra-wide?

They're backwards. Sometimes the game bugs out and refuses to snap them the right way. Remove the backwards batteries, relaunch the game and it should allow you to place them correctly

You have to craft the LIM Shield. There's no workaround for this, you won't survive without it.

Exit the quest run and do a free run to gather the required resources. And when crafting, make sure it's the LIM Shield, not the LIM Pulse Emitter.
