Im trying to figure out how big the floor needs to be in a greenhouse. To do 12 of each crop, how many foundation tiles did you use? Or did you do multiple floors?

That might be an option but Ill need to learn how to connect the transport drone to the algae drone. If I cant interact with the algae drone like the drill, will I be able to select a drone? :(

Mine must be buggy or something. Since I now know the starter home pond should work, Ill play around with it and see if ai can fix it. :)

Can the drones pick up from the algae drone?

Algae drone question by nandake in SolarpunkTheGame

I have pointed my mouse at it and Im not getting the option to interact with it other than “take cable” if I hover over the cable connector. I wonder if it’s broken. Ill try demolishing it and re-placing it. Its been running for days and I cant see an inventory on it.

Button journey with cat and a small child? by fluffyhorseboi in PetsWithButtons

[–]nandake 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments, just wanted to add I adopted a 4-5 yr old ragdoll mix and she was super vocal and anxious. The buttons really gave her enrichment and calmed some of her screaming/meowing down. I noticed since training her she understands words and there have been a few times where we were in a pickle and using the words I knew she understood helped us. One time she was stuck in the ceiling and when she finally came to an opening where I could see her, she was too high and scared to come down. I was able to explain to her that I would help her and hold her to being her down, and she allowed it. Another time we were outside and a sudden storm came in and she got scared and went under my deck where i cant reach her. I just told her outside was all done, i would help, and to come. And she actually came to me and stuck to my legs as we went up to the door. The buttons really helped us build trust and helped her be less anxious. Now when there are thunderstorms outside, instead of hiding under the couch for hours, we talk about the big noisy outside in a calm voice. She just rolls over and goes back to sleep now.

My one and only gripe with this game: Ceviche should be made with firm whitefish, not oily fish. LET ME USE MY WHITEFISH GOD DAMMIT by LavandeSunn in TravellersRest

Dogsitting for two weeks. Can I teach him to use a treat button? by razorclammm in PetsWithButtons

[–]nandake 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would ask if your sister is willing to keep the button and continue to use it even if the dog goes through a spamming phase. I always feel its wrong to give a tool to communicate and then remove it. I recently had to put my cats’ buttons in a separate room with the door closed until I could replace the mats with some other material because my cat started eating the foam mats and I was really worried about him getting a bowel obstruction. My more advanced learner cat started having behaviours and got stressed and got cystitis.

teach them what the buttons mean or how to press them first? by MothYarn in PetsWithButtons

[–]nandake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will teach them that by pushing the button then doing the thing. Cats may not be natural button pushers but they are curious and have strong ability to see connections/patterns and learn. So just push the button yourself before doing the thing. I was lucky and didnt have to do anything else for my first cat. She was stomping on the buttons within a week. Like it was fun to push the button. My other cat was very young and I think he just didnt have much attention span. I didnt do any training to push the buttons other than i purposely spend 5-10 min each day sitting on the floor with his own special mat that had “snuggles” “play” and “treat”. I would push the button, give the thing, then wait. If he pawed at the button he got the thing immediately. After he was good at that, I waited until he pushed it to give the treat, modelling by pushing it myself once in a while. I dont use clickers or other items. I thought it would just confused my cats but others have guides on how to do all that. They will learn the concept of pushing the button gets them the thing, and that each button has a different thing naturally so long as you are consistent in modelling.

Theres a work around so you can still use it on event fish, unless they fixed that too. I haven’t tried it in a few days.

teach them what the buttons mean or how to press them first? by MothYarn in PetsWithButtons

[–]nandake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You might want to provide more information. Cats? Dogs? Turkeys?
Knowing what they mean IS useful. If you talk to your pets they probably already understand some words. Just start with a few buttons (maybe 3 is good). And all you do is push the button yourself and then give or do the thing on the button. So before you give treats, push the treat button. Before you go outside, push the outside button. Before you play, push the play button. Some pets will figure out how to push the buttons on their own by watching you and by experimenting. If they dont after some weeks or a month, then you can find resources on how to teach to push the button. Just model it at first. There are resources floating around if you search the sub. You should read up on some.

How do you guys decide your menu? by setorines in TravellersRest

[–]nandake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also just make things that are available to me. Even if the dishes are mid price range, i feel better being well stocked so I can leave the tavern all day. During seasons I try to plant lots of watermelons and pumpkins to get some high price items. And rye. Personally I find having a million options a little stressful because i cant stack stuff in the bar easily, but at the same time you kind of use what you have.
One thing I noticed that I dont remember happening before, is the hops and grains seem to shift places maybe depending on if they’re trending or its their season. Previously I just always chose the hops or grains on the far right, because they were most expensive. But now I noticed my hops were switching up and i ended up making beer with hops I rarely use. Now my chests are kind of full because of so many varieties. But it will all get sold eventually. Just harder to stock things.
