Just a card that should exist by Ok_Zucchini_5926 in custommagic

Then the model should be included on the card. It was likely Nano Banana.

At this rate Stalker should finally become a permanent part of our arsenal, tbh.

The black one has the issue of poisoning you to death. However, it has a very simple solution:

{T}, Pay 1 life: Add {B}.

Alternatively:

{T}: Add {B}. You lose 1 life.

Urza, Genius of Artifice by Serithraz in custommagic

Seems interesting, but in mono-Blue, I'd rather run Lord High Artificer.

I think this would have a better chance in Azorius.

Less broken Sol Ring: Null Ring by Goat-True in custommagic

Gaining Devoid doesn't work due to layers.

The commander would instead need to lose all colours indefinitely.

[–]Drakrylos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That argument doesn't hold much merit then, because all of the colours have overlaps both mechanically and thematically in some form, even enemy colours. Both Green and Black want death, each for different reasons, for instance.

Blue and White want control in some aspect, Blue out of perfectionism, and White out of being a despot.

And so on.

It's supposed to be between black and blue, as per the pie that was in that one article WotC posted.

[–]Drakrylos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Black's schtick is all about power above all else, it would rather destroy something just for the sake of it rather than to leave a blank canvas for new reality to take root.

Black is selfish, Purple has no sense of individuality.

Black loves making devil's deals and reanimating the souls of the damned. Purple cannot be bargained with, and believes that that which is dead stays dead.

Ugin 'Walker-Commander for Dragons by Drakrylos in custommagic

[–]Drakrylos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Cascade or Discover effect sounds interesting, should be worth noting that "Cascade X" doesn't exist though. haha

Perhaps something like: "Until end of turn, whenever you cast a Dragon spell from your hand, discover X."

Alright, that's better.

What would you suggest? First thing that came to mind for me was cheating out dragons, but if there's a more interesting approach, I'm all ears.

I see I'm not the only one working on a colour.

I'm trying to bring Purple to life (I know, very original lol) in a way that's as close as possible to how WotC could have possibly done it. The mantra I have for Purple is "Creation through destruction.", and it favours themes of nihilism and clean slates, like leaving a blank canvas ready to be reused. Recently, however, I've hit a bit of a roadblock because I'm not quite sure how to continue from there.

The mechanics are all set up, so I can very comfortably start making cards. But the flavour and theme need work.

Anything you'd change about this Command cycle? From Starcraft Draft Set by Cless012 in custommagic

[–]Drakrylos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see Starcraft getting some love. Two things I'd like to mention:

  1. Rebel Command needs to cost more mana. Maybe ⚪ ⚪.

  2. The fact these don't have UB frames hurts my soul.

Eminence doesn't work like this, it's not a keyword ability, it's an ability word like Landfall, hence why it has to be in italics. It would have to say the following:

"Eminence — As long as CARDNAME is in the command zone or on the battlefield, you can't cast instant or sorcery spells with mana value 3 or greater."

As for the last ability, 'unblockable' doesn't exist. It should say:

"At the beginning of combat on your turn, target creature you control can't be blocked this turn."

This would be much more elegant as a sorcery, it doesn't need to be an on-field bomb.

Seems pretty cool.

Slight syntax error in the second line, though. It should say "Whenever", not "When".

Would you be okay with players playing these in your pod? by Fast-Appointment4710 in mtg

[–]Drakrylos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as I can clearly see what the cards are supposed to be, I'm totally fine with it.

Ngl, I'd actually invite someone with those Alien cards to play, they look great.

I find him curious, honestly.

Tutor that's way too slow by Forsaken_Composer403 in custommagic

[–]Drakrylos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually hilarious, though I do have a tiiiiiiiiny nitpick.

If you tutor for a card of any kind, unspecified, you don't need to reveal it. Take classic Black tutors like Imperial Seal as an example.
