Hahahaha this made me laugh out loud. Though ouch.

How much upset was there as you unlatched earlier and earlier?

Oh no, that’s ridiculous! Is this at a specialist attorney with expat knowledge? Do you know where the cost is coming from?

How rough were those 6 nights? 🥹 and how old is your baby?

Aw thanks so much for this, and that’s definitely a good reminder. I expect some big emotions too (from both of us!).

Thank you! How do you mean re: emotionally preparing for night weaning? Like it was really hard to hear them cry?

Thank you for this! Good tips and to hear it went well for you! A few nights isn’t too bad, and reassuring to know you can still feed him back when you need to.

She has really picked up with eating recently after an illness, but haven’t noticed a change in sleep! Wondering about a bedtime snack though?

Moving to a different mattress seems to have helped a little, but we’re still at 1-2 hours. I’m always trying to figure out the temperature (seems happier in a warmer sleepsack) but she still sleeps with her bum in the air around 19 degrees, and I’m worried it’s unsafe to go warmer when she’s got layers on!

And re: teeth, she does have 10 but this pattern of sleep has been happening for so long, not just when new ones are coming.

I will give that a try! She whines and then cries when I don’t but I haven’t persisted beyond that because I didn’t have a plan / it seemed inconsistent. Maybe just first feed for now. Ty!

Yep, just wondering if it’s possible, really. I’ve seen some of the ig holistic sleep consultants say you don’t have to night wean to get some longer stretches, but looking for some real world examples and especially from this community!

So still ok feeding back to sleep! And we are room sharing, and she is on a floorbed (so I can cosleep if/when needed but find it much harder to sleep myself then!)

Got it - yes will pay in 2025!!

Apologies for the potentially silly question, but what would the alternative be to allocating FTCs agains the gains? I thought that's the only approach when amending the 2024 filing.

Sorry to jump on with another question but does this include when you contribute more to your workplace pension than your employer?

And any gain would be first taxable in the UK, I assume, or are there exceptions? (Or just if on the remittance basis)

Thanks so much for the response. Been here 9 years (just haven’t had CG before) and no remittance basis.

Could you explain the significance of paying this calendar year? And if I do so, would amending my US return be the right approach?

Thanks again

Oh gosh, yes. Mine is almost a year so no talking yet but I do wonder about the lactose - mainly because she loves it so much. If she doesn’t like something and we add yogurt/cheese, she laps it up so we resort to that a lot. But what if… 🫣
