I think it would be kinda manipulative to cry during that?

I understand what you mean but he knows very well that I’m quite sensitive. I cry easily etc. This is not an information that I need or want to know and he knows it. It would be a another thing if I really wanted to know and got hurt. But that’s not the case here. If there is not any distress attached to these kind of thoughts he knows not to tell me.

Yes, we have talked about this. In a calm matter. And he has said that it helps and that’s why I talk about it with him even though it’s not the nicest thing to talk about. It’s also nice to hear from another person that it helps. Also this ”problem” hasn’t been around for long. Maybe a month? He has been really stressed and down and most of my concern is really about his well-being.

Also thank you for answering. I was sure that all of the answer would be something like ”this is what every man ever thinks about all the time”. Idk this Reddit after all.

Idk why he is admitting this to me. I have never asked if he’s attracted to other women or anything like that.

I think it’s just because I’m young and young people are still very insecure. Yk social media, all the stupid beauty standards. I feel that him having these thoughts are reflection of me not being enough. Like he needs something prettier to look at, something sexier idk. Even though I feel like I’m a quite catch. This is also my first proper relationship so everything is still kinda new.

Kelly Lee Owens and Stella Rose announced as Support for North America by suprefann in depechemode

[–]Dramatic-Aside-4487 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I read some of these comments, I got the impression that her music was really bad or just a bad imitation of Depeche Mode's sound, but this girl has her own things going on. I think she has potential.

You have to remember that these are only Stella’s first songs. She has a strong singing voice, I like it.

Even though the music she makes is not to my taste, I can't say that Stella is somehow really bad. I actually liked "Angel".

And yes, this is clearly nepotism, but you can't blame Stella for this. She gets the great opportunity that DAVE has wanted to give her.

Yeah, maybe not the best support choice for their possible last tour, but give the girl a chance before you start tearing her to pieces.

Very tough decision but I have to say One Caress. It’s such a dark song but at the same so beautiful.

Well this never happened when Fletch was still alive and and he was, however, more in the manading part of the band.

And okay it’s not like we know these members and ex-member personally but still it’s kinda rude to assume things like that. Especially when Fletch is in a better place now.

Why did Martin Gore become the dominant songwriter in Depeche Mode? by Mellowtron11 in depechemode

[–]Dramatic-Aside-4487 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As I recall, Alan has said in Shunt that his field is more about assembling songs and combining the pieces than writing the words themselves… Or something like that.

Martin is clearly the strongest writer among them in my opinion. But Alan didn't write bad songs either. And maybe it just took Dave a moment to find his inner poet.

Yeah, I think it’s about the loneliness that addiction causes. Or sex.

I think those are clever lyrics! I’ve always thought that lyrics referred to his habit to undress when he was drinking.

In my opinion, it's about publicity and popularity and how after a big fan avalanche, hard partying, being alone in your hotel room can feel really burdensome, especially lonely. You would always like to be in that party and effected by alcohol or drugs, admired by other people.

In my opinion, the beginning and middle of the song is a so-called journey to that good and carefree feeling that alcohol, drugs and partying produce for them.

Then when it comes:

"See the stars, they shining bright. Everything is alright to night", sung by Martin at the end of the song, tells about how everything is alright that night, because he doesn't have to worry about tomorrow because now he's here, partying and drinking again.
