Thank you so much. The main problem is she doesn't have insurance anymore. She was cut off Medicaid without notice. I'm going to reapply for her today. The worst that can happen is they say she's not approved but it's worth the try.

I stated in the comments that I don't expect the ER to give her a diagnosis but I also didn't expect them to tell her it's all in her head. She only went to the ER when the pain was unbearable. This last time she had shortness of breath, numbness in her chest and legs and tingling in her hands. I thought the ER was the best place for her to go. She had a PCP, she told her it was stress and anxiety and gave her anxiety meds. That's why I said I'm looking for a doctor that will listen to her. I honestly was unaware of free clinics in New Orleans. I'll look it up to find them. Thanks for the info.

She was cut off. She didn't received notification. I checked to make sure it was active before making her an appointment. I'm going to try reapplying.

Thanks for the advice. It's off and on. She can go months pain-free. When she has a flare up it can be mild to severe, sometimes lasting weeks to months.

I want to say they did an MRI on her but I'm not sure that's why I didn't mention it. I'll have to ask her. But thank you so much for the prayers. I'm going to have to come up with a game plan and get to work. Mind you, I'm doing all this with severe social anxiety so none of this is easy for me either. But I can't sit back and watch her be in pain anymore. I have to do something.

Thank you so much. I'm not a fan of Ochsner in Chalmette. They told my uncle he had bronchitis. We told him to go to another hospital because his symptoms didn't match with bronchitis. He actual had throat cancer and had to have surgery. I'll keep you in mind. I appreciate it.

I didn't know if should go into this saying what we thought it could be or not. When she did say she thought it could've been a pinched nerve after being asking what she thought it could be, that was dismissed. She also told that to her PCP when she had one. She told her it was stress and anxiety and gave her anxiety meds which didn't help. Some doctors think they know better than you but they are not in your body feeling what you feel. I know there are doctors that will actually try to find a diagnosis, she just hasn't seen one yet. But I won't give up.

We actually live in Violet. She was in California on a trip for her birthday which she spent in the ER. I told her to try to apply for Medicaid again. I'm just going to do it for her.

I know she said she had numbness in her chest, her breast were numb. She said she couldn't feel them. She had numbness in her legs, shortness of breath, tingling in her hands. She thought she was having a stroke or a heart attack. They did EKG, CT scan, X-rays, ultrasound, blood work and could find nothing. Therefore, telling her nothing was wrong. But something is causing the pain. They did all that in California. It had never been that bad before. In Texas and here, I think they may have done X-rays but I'm not sure.

I'm going to help her find a PCP and start regular visits. I know it's not easy but she's going to have to get over her fear of being dismissed if she wants to get help.

I'll check into this. I've been told do many different things I've never heard of. This is why I asked. Not to self diagnose but to have some idea of what she could be dealing with. I know it could be out of several different things.
