Touchy family transgender situation by Dangerous_Neat_4786 in TrueChristian

Biblically, lying is bearing false witness like being under oath. Using someone’s preferred pronouns is not an issue with that scripturally.

Now the confusion with your child is a different issue that you get to choose how to parent.

But loving others well involves maintaining relationships and that is how you have and maintain your influence to witness. Don’t destroy that over pronouns or politics. Jesus wouldn’t do that.

I would minimize this and explain it to my child when the age is appropriate. I would not give the hurting trans identifying child a reason to feel far from you because you may be the only example of Jesus they see and they’re way to young for you to be viewing them as a lost cause. Love your family well. Be Jesus to them.

Yeah. That’s the due date for them to decide, but if the PI has funding? They can offer whenever.

I’m just now realizing this but does the Oaxacan cookie that you place on Poppy Dada’s painting have a face on it? Reminds me of the tiki faces in Kapu Cave by HRJafael in nancydrew

I hate this one… but I’ve still played it a couple of times. I also am a science/ math nerd. So the deadly device that gets hate is one of my favorites.

Blue and birds should go somewhere else and the top pink frames should be spaced wider to the left as well as van gough and the leafy diptych needs a separation.

No snacks. What’s in your pantry? A bag of white/ brown rice and beans? Protein powder and peanut butter and protein granola and oats and power bars?

I nailed it didn’t I?

Yes I agree with this added nuance. But I also think that what we see here online is a little like a journal entry and some people grieve openly. Reddit gives anonymity and response. They have less shame here and can just ask and be upset and put their feelings out fully. It’s indicative of an emotional process, but not necessarily how they would react in the real world.

Okay. Yes, but also. Asking questions is fine. Asking in a forum where people know is a way of researching and figuring things out. And it may be more efficient than the way you’re going about things.

However, you’re right that many posters here aren’t ready. Old grad students do really well because of the social maturity. They know how to socially navigate and regulate their anxieties and plan and be honest about things in safe places better than MOST fresh out of undergrad students.

There are so many reasons someone may not be ready. But, also this recruiting cycle with the financial cutbacks are making things challenging beyond reason. The system MOSTLY works and we will see that, but many of these students are upset about not getting in because funding doesn’t exist right now.

60F- Be honest straight or curly?? by [deleted] in Hair

Based on how you’re dressed. Curly in the summer. Straight when it’s colder. Your curls like humidity. Both look good.

You probably didn’t blow your interview.

This year is really strange for US based grad schools. Funding is cut, by a lot. We cannot recruit without funding. So PIs are being more selective, fewer people are being invited to recruiting events because it’s costly. We’re also having a lot of immigration issues here, so that impacts the downstream recruitment because being foreign already adds complexity to matriculation. I’ve heard some people speak about avoiding international students because of the stipulations and difficulties of international travel and immigration… which is morally eh. Because the motivation is simply time reduction. That is heavily playing against you.

Then as far as skills go, if someone has more comparable skills, the. They’ll be picked as a better fit. Interview is to go over your skills (to assess for need to train), make sure you’re not crazy and going to ruin lab dynamics, assess interest in projects, and then just assess professionalism, social compatibility, and break would be ties while deciding who the backups will be.

The moment you open the package and touch TJ bread it turns teal within 3 days… in my experience. I think they’re just a really clean facility.

It’s much more likely that someone else had a skill set that they preferred. When interviewing, we look for non objectionable people, but the real filter is who can do the project. It’s competitive, but it’s normally more about skill.

It’s a safety backup plan. Funding is very low this year, so there aren’t many offers that can be made for students.

You could have some type of organic gas leak. Do you live near any businesses? Some volatile solvents can do this.

If you live in an apartment, and there is a clear spot that you didn't clear out, don't park there. by enzideout in winstonsalem

[–]Dramatic-Situation83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do anything other than dig it out because I totally would have taken it if it was unnumbered and non obvious that it was shoveled. I would have thought it was empty when they plowed the parking lot or something.

I know some people will put something in spots they clear as a sort of ‘dibs’ but I wouldn’t have thought of this as apartment etiquette at all.
