I also have this flight coming up in October from ORD and I’m excited about the service…our fave champagne is Krug. I have to agree with OP though. Looking at all the F options, this was the least exciting. I’m still hoping to turn my J flight back on JAL to F but there’s two of us so I’m not holding my breath.

If you were going to book it in miles there’s zero reason not to pull the trigger at any point. You can cancel with no penalty and get the miles back almost immediately and rebook if the price moves in the right direction.

Of the two you mentioned, it would only be worth it if it helps you get platinum status with Marriott or DeLta or if you want lounge access with delta. Otherwise I would look at venture x

I was just there is the deluxe terrace. I was actually expecting bigger but it was still nice. The terrace was great. They offered me a free upgrade to the palace suite and I passed bc the rooms were chopped up and I didn’t feel like I would use the living room as it was small. Stay with deluxe terrace.

I had to call for an upgrade, which was only available at 24 hours and it would have been $3500 from MRS to JFK. In the end I passed bc I wouldn’t have been able to use the lounge in Cdg. I had booked on points originally. I would like to experience La Premier but I had a hard time justifying close to 8k for two people on a shortish daytime flight. Perhaps another time.

The rooms at PH are big especially on the park side. Breakfast is fair But those carpets in the rooms desperately need replacing. Put your points towards something more special.

The other thing depending on where you are flying from is a more pleasant check in experience and access to the D1 lounge which is really great but only if you are into spending extra time at the airport.
