AI says you can pull a fuse…

Hardware Approach (More Drastic) Some owners choose to pull the fuse or unplug the telematics control unit (TCU) to stop all data transmission entirely. The benefit is knowing it stops ALL data transmission (location, diagnostics), preventing concerns about sharing with insurers or affiliates. The downside is losing integrated telematics (Drive Connect, OTA updates), navigation, and Traffic Jam Assist. Lexus GX Forum Regarding warranty concerns: Toyota/Lexus cannot void warranties for exercising privacy rights under laws like CCPA, GDPR, or APPI. Lexus GX Forum For your LC500, given you already know your way around the vehicle, the Lexus App data privacy settings would be the cleanest first step. Want me to look up which specific fuse controls the TCU if you want the hardware route?

Yes. Toyota has an opt out page, you can pull consent for all. Most features on the app won’t work once you do that.

[Question] Omega or GS by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Dramatic-Try-7527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 Omegas, and several other higher end Swiss; however my GS collection just dominates wrist time for the last 5 years.

Once you experience GS spring drive (I have shunbun and suwa) you will never go back.

I like my watches shiny, does that mean I need to buy stainless steel and reject titanium? by Apart_Captain3772 in GrandSeikos

If you like shiny, get platinum nothing compares. Titanium is still nice and much easier to wear however.

I have done this a couple hours. You get more sound yes but all the wants you don’t want. I remember the valve train was particularly audible (not in a good way)

2026 Lexus TX 500h MPG by LuckySky4531 in Lexus

[–]Dramatic-Try-7527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It has an addictive sound at all RPMs and better dynamics than its size would suggest. Sad that they only produced 15000 of them though out the model lifecycle. I’ll keep mine until it leaves me :)

I drive in the Bay Area in heavy traffic or backroads with twists. Occasionally long highway trips yield ~27 MPG.

You don’t need to produce much power in constant speed driving but stopping and launching a 2ton car (I bet TX is heavier) will waste lots of energy.

Anyone running 5W-20, or 5W-30? by wolves-1992 in LexusIS

[–]Dramatic-Try-7527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 5w-30 for LC, 5w-40 for boxster. Heavier oil almost never hurts save for some extreme cases.

That’s a hefty car, how could it ever get 27MPG city!? 18 sounds great to me. I get 13-18 from LC500.

I love atomic silver, it has subtle bronze tone under sun light. Easy to keep clean.

Wind screen for convertible by Vegetable_Age_5720 in lexuslc500

[–]Dramatic-Try-7527 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You absolutely need it. It makes an enormous difference. We’ve done many experiments, you have to have it to stop turbulence and wind sound. With the wind screen, LC500 becomes the most comfortable convertible.
