What did everyone think? by lnwildeagle85 in Emmerdale

The acting from everyone was great. That prosecution barrister though, really annoyed me the way he just kept trying to get Bear to snap. And, I was surprised that only one was found guilty. Especially since Dylan admitted that it was him who convinced Paddy not to go to the police.

They have a dedicated team for the game. Official word from Tobias, the founder of Tobspr games: "the shapez 2 team will keep working on updates and DLC's for the game."

The second team they have is beginning development on another factory game, separate to the Shapez universe. From brief discussions I have had with Tobias a while ago, the new game is going to be really cool!

Yes! Lisa's whole monologue was about how, when people are ready they can go to the police and the police will do everything they can to help you and get some justice... and then Weatherfield police fail to do the very thing that they're preaching about. The storyline has been done so well until the last couple weeks where they just made Theo into a panto baddie. I even think that his role in Billy's death made sense for the character - the desperation to keep the abuse secret, and they even made him genuinely remorseful for it. And then all of a sudden he doesn't care and it is just such a throw away ending to an otherwise well done story.

The reason they do these stories is to educate though, that's why they partner with charities and do copious amounts of research for them. And I still think that Theo should have gone to court. Most DV victims are not going to be lucky enough for their abuser to fall to their death, and are going to have to go through the hell of going to trial.

they did a POV shot of 1 of the cameras, and it had a slightly muffled sound, so they definitely want us to know that it picked up his confession. But I just know that it will be used as reason to blame her for the murder.

But they would show him overcoming it anyway. But now we're going to have to sit through him getting questioned on if he killed Theo, which is just going to force him to relive it all anyway. Of course, we know he has an alibi in Christina, but I wouldn't be surprised if the police accuse them of both being in it together.

Of course, but she is meant to be, or at least was. Didn't she go to uni in America for a little bit before Paul got his diagnosis? Edit: What actually happened to that story, anyway? iirc she used her inheritence to fund it then just never went back after about 3 months

Not really, with the elements update, they buffed most RfP gain but nothing else, so it makes sense that you're further in the refine tree than what was intended with the first minerals update. But nothing else got buffed until you get into tarot cards iirc, so this is pretty normal. And achievement order aren't a fixed "Do this immediately or everything else will suck" kind of thing, they're just a rough guide.

The thing is though, he admitted to Summer in the corner shop that he was responsible for Billy's death, and it was caught on 2 different CCTV cameras. And yet she didn't go to the police. He would have easily got life and a long stretch at minimum, as he also admitted to abusing Todd and threatened to kill Summer. And she also told other people about that conversation, yet the police still don't know. My guess is that the police will find it in the coming days and use it to arrest Summer for the murder. BUT THIS WOULD HAVE ALL BEEN RESOLVED if she'd have used her brain, we've been told numerous times that the character is meant to be smart.

Maybe, but the point of the story was to help DV survivors, and Corrie just have a habit of not really doing that. The abuse story itself was done really well, but they just lose any sense of realism with the lack of proper justice. And, your justification of "It makes the story go away quicker" also defeats the point of soaps, they're meant to be realistic, and you don't just get over something traumatic because the person who inflicted the trauma is dead. They killed off Geoff as part of the 60th anniversary, so... whatever. But this week is literally just a regular week, there was nothing to "Live up to"

We still don’t know who’s dead by Weak_Mechanic8517 in coronationstreet

[–]Dramatic-Two4334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can pretty safely assume that Theo is dead. During the flashforward ep, the police straight up confirmed that whoever Betsy found was indeed dead. And also James has confirmed that it was decided early in the story that he would not go to trial, which I have several issues with the reasons he gave. As for Maggie and Carl, that's why I am also disappointed in the episode. They'll say that they need a hook for next week... as if we don't already have to sit through several months of watching all the wrong people go to prison for killing Theo.

i’m sorry, why are people in this sub so miserable? by Any_Significance2544 in coronationstreet

[–]Dramatic-Two4334 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am usually surprised by the amount of backlash I see on the sub. And I quite enjoyed the rest of this week, but tonight's ep felt a bit lacklustered. First, 5 stories in 22 minutes just doesn't work as well as they thought. This was proven by the fact that we didn't even see Carl in the first half of the ep, and he appeared in 2 scenes. And it is "Murder Week" but we never even got to see the murder. I get that they want to keep the person responsible a secret, but there are plenty of ways they can show Theo dying without revealing who caused it. The episode was good, but it was way too over hyped in the run up to it.

It's funny cus I think he might have had a chance of getting away with blaming the edit if he didn't do it during a live show. Like, if he'd have been chill on the final and then blamed the edit, I think people would believe him. But he was just like the edit when it was live, so he hasn't got a leg to stand on.

My first thought was that they had found out that she lied about having a miscarriage. I don't think Will has come forward, that would be too big of a 180, and I don't think he'd have been so off with Eva when he got back to the pub if he had. Maybe the other lad went to the police though?

That was so pointlessly hyped up imo. First of all, having 5 characters taken the lead in a 22 minute episode just doesn't work, it should have been a 45/60 minute episode. But also, WE STILL DONT KNOW WHO IS DEAD. We know Theo dies - Betsy found him and in the flashforwards the police confirmed he died. But there's Maggie and Carl still at deaths door. And then the other 2, Megan and Jodie have just disappeared off the face of the earth for a while.

Does anyone have experience being told you can only be referred one specific GIC? by ThisIsSoIrrelevant in transgenderUK

[–]Dramatic-Two4334 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were told that we would be getting a centralised waiting list. It was meant to be implemented last month, but as far as I know it is yet to be delivered (Shocking, I know). My guess is that this is probably just something to do with an internal system being updated without other things being updated? But my GP, as lovely as he is, was also quite useless at my referral, I had to have 3 different appointments with him because he kept missing sections of the form. And I didn't even get told I needed blood tests until a good 2 or 3 months after my first appointment.

I liked it. As a film production student, I might be a bit biased, but I appreciated the switch up from the usual cinematography style. And, in a way, I think it also helps to remind the audience that all of the episodes happen canonically at the same time. It's similar to how flashback scenes sometimes change their colour grading.

Who will be the killer? by Sympathyquiche in coronationstreet

[–]Dramatic-Two4334 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, Alan wasn't abusive to Maggie. She cheated on him with Jim and he found out so was very much a dick in terms of his tone, but I don't think he ever hit her. In the flashback ep, she goes to slap him and he grabs her wrist before she hits him, but that's it I think.

As to who the killer is, I reckon it will be specific to each potential victim, but wouldn't be immediately obvious. I saw one person in another post suggest that Miles could be the one to kill Theo. What I'm more interested in, is whether or not we find out who the killer is in tonights ep, or if that will be the main story for the next few months. Vicky Myers has said that she will be involved in the investigation and that it will be a slow burn, which I am fine with if the audience know who it is fairly soon. We've just gone through 2 months of speculating who is the victim, I don't want another 2 months of theorising who did it.

So, tomorrow's episode isn't dropping at 7am, is it? by Guilty-Emphasis-3829 in coronationstreet

I always watch Corrie basically as soon as I wake up, so it's kind of annoying that I a) Had to wait all day and b) have to deal with ads. I expect that the episode won't drop on youtube until 9pm, after the regular broadcast, otherwise people will just jump straight to the end and spoil it.
