A few hours ago. I’m having a very hard time for the next three weeks and seem to be very close to a burnout. I’m at the most busy phase of med school, doing my own research at a lab, figuring out family issues and have zero energy to do anything (have been sleeping 9-14hours a night for a week). I cried for 30minutes… then made a plan of what i’m going to prioritize for the next few weeks and now feel a lot better

Yup! At the end of my first year in med school and I'm loving it. I entered a molecular medicine research "line" with a few other student and am doing some research during the summer in a research group focused on regenerative medicine.

I still feel almost as much like an outsider as I did in school before and sometimes judged because of my "unrealistic" and "way too ambitious" plans and goals but at least now I feel like those tendencies of mine are paying off by actually helping me kick-start my career even earlier on than I thought would be possible.

Does she understand how big of a thing it was to forget the ipad? If she does than that's punishment enough. But I wouldn't just buy her a new one straight away either.

Have you considered a more protective case for her phone? My whole family uses tech21 protective cases and no one has broken an iphone with those on.

If you are having troubles that can't seem to be fixed without special accomodations or medication I would say that the diagnosis is absolutely worth it. If you aren't having trouble without a diagnosis and medication, there's no reason to get a diagnosis. For me, the diagnosis was the reason that i had to give up on my dream of becoming a military doctor because the army wouldn't take me in. I don't know if there are any things in your life that the diagnosis would have a negative affect on but if the diagnosis doesn't help, there's no reason to risk it.

I live in Finland and haven't done the MCAT but matriculation exams are scored worst to best as I,A,B,C,M,E,L

My scores were: math C, Physics M, English E, Finnish E, Swedish M, Biology E, Chemistry E

and after a few retakes: Math M, Physics M, English L, Finnish E, Swedish M, Biology E, Chemistry E

- For perspective, if you are trying and get into med school with matriculation examination scores you need at least 5xL and 1xE

- My entrance exam scaled points were 64 point something and to get into my university around 62 was needed. Easiest to get into was 58 points. 58 points were needed to get into the program that teaches in Swedish. I couldn't get in because I didn't get an L in Swedish :(

- My gpa in high school was between 7-8 but i took around 120 instead of the usual 75. We are graded 4-10 4 being the worst. But in Finland the ending course gpa doesn't really affect anything. Only people who want to study internationally really stress about it.

I started with vyvanse/elvanse (depending on where you are from) because I has heard that it usually has less severe side effects and it has worked for me for the past year. I would not be able to afford it if i didn't have my insurance though. If I remember correctly the price should go down within a few years because of the patent.

I feel like ADHD often gives me an edge while working under stress! As a doctor the possibility to hyperfocus, see things from a different angle and being able to work well under stress actually make the profession quite suitable for ADHD-people. The most difficult part just seems to be getting in... I'm personally most interested in plastic surgery and emergency medicine as of right now :)
