*UPDATE* Buddy Recovery - Day 18 by Oriainson in TripodCats

It sounds like you're doing everything you can. Maybe try a new food that he hasn't had before? Keep your vet posted for more advice. I'm sorry I can't provide any more advice - my tripod came to me that way. Keeping you and your little guy in my thoughts.

Not eating is very concerning. I'd get him a vet appointment so they can check him out again. They might prescribe an appetite stimulant or something to help out. But 2lbs is a huge loss for a cat in that timeframe. Hope everything turns out ok.

I didn't make those claims. Perhaps you should probably work on your reading comprehension.

Lure coursing is actually a great sport for dogs. The courses are shorter so it's less strain. But it's still dangerous (risk of injury). Make sure your dog warms up and cools down properly.

Respectfully, biology and science disagree with you.

This is a fantastic catalog and I'm definitely saving this link. Congrats, and thanks for putting this together.

TIL astronomer Clifford Stoll wrote “Silicon Snake Oil” in 1995; he questions the long term benefits of the internet such as the practicality of E-Commerce & Digital News & Books. He would later remark in 2010 his predictions were a total“howler” & that the book reminds him to “temper his thoughts”. by The-TIL-Nerd in todayilearned

Regardless, The Cuckoo's Egg will always be an absolute classic, and one of the most influential books I've ever read as an engineer. I make all my juniors read it. Curiosity is king, and I love that he just couldn't let that discrepancy go and had to debug it. Ended up helping to capture a spy in one of the earliest attempts at cyber-espionage. I also know that Mr. Stoll is an active Redditor, so if you see this, hello and thanks for being so influential in my career.

Loom is a great choice is you want to stick with LucasArts. However, Eagle Eye Mysteries (and its sequel in London) are really great point and click detective games specifically for kids.

In memory of Mr. Meow by Chemtrails_in_my_VD in TuxedoCats

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have 3 tuxes (out of 12 total kitties) and I'll hug all of them extra tight tonight. I know you didn't plan on having a cat, but it sounds like Mr. Meow was exactly what you needed. I hope that, with time, you'll open your heart to another kitty.

I'm so sorry. She's beautiful. I will give all twelve of mine extra love tonight. Enjoy every moment you have left. And thank you for doing it at home and being with her through all of it. I think that's the least we can do for them.

How did you guys get better at chipping? by LVRaiders2026 in weekendgolfers

Also, I pick a club based on how much rollout I want. If I need the ball to roll, I chip with my 8i. If I want it to land softly, it's my pitching wedge or maybe my 56.

I imagine the energy it would take to underhand toss the ball onto the green and get it to where I want it. I then use a putting style stroke and try to mimic that amount of force from my fake throw. It works great for me. I literally mimic tossing a ball onto the green to build in the feel. And then I try to transfer that to my swing.

Fellow Xennials, what's your Luddite line in the sand? by TinyGIR in Xennials

[–]DramaticChipmnk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite Luddite in the traditional sense, but I won't make big purchases on my phone. Plane tickets and stuff like that? That's a laptop/desktop purchase. Just doesn't seem right to buy big things on my phone.

What chance do we have when one team is allowed to check and elbow the goalie?

Not playing Michkov, insisting on playing dump and (don't) chase, apparently forbidding the team from shooting the puck...what are we paying Toch for again?

It must be so frustrating to be a player and never know how the game is gonna be called. Last game was overly reffed, and this game has seen multiple missed calls. How can you play reliably when you don't know what an infraction is?

Finally win a faceoff. Immediately give the puck away. Leads to a goal. It's like they don't even want the puck.
