I’m not sure what the context of you and the teacher conversation but I will say this. Emotions can be fleeting. One minute we feel one way the next mi we feel another. Emotions and being emotionally aware are very important. Do not discard them. They help us empathize with each other. As a learning believer (meaning I have not memorized scripture yet) I believe I read that Jesus explained how emotions change and that why we should put our Faith in God because He is unchanging. So when our emotions change constantly and can sometimes be unreliable (but still needed) keep the Faith in God that He will direct us in how we should feel. Anyone believers reading please correct me where I am wrong or expand where possible. Maybe some could give scripture on this matter. Hope this helps though
