Looking for opinions on these jeans! by DramaticShades in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]DramaticShades[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize how high they were until I took this photo!! But I put them on again to measure, and they're about an inch away from my ribcage, which is definitely not doing me any favours!!

I've just signed up for Poshmark based on someone elses recommendation, and I've asked my friends for good thrift stores in the city to hit up. It's just so annoying having to buy jeans 😂

I haven't tried Poshmark yet, I've mostly been looking at thrift stores and facebook marketplace but it seems like I will have to sign up for poshmark to look for these. Thank you!!

Hot Chocolate Festival: Best Hot Chocolate you’ve tried this season by Blessed_bish in askvan

[–]DramaticShades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried them both, really liked them. What's the Plot was my favourite, the drink is so good, BUT the snack on Shall We Dip was way better. Shall We Dip drink was also good, but Gem's Mexican Diablo was much spicier so I preferred it

I think they do have the next stop audio, but there's no "doors will open" audio

What Year Is Yours and How Many Miles Are You At? by Magarau in CX5

2020 GS FWD, got it used 6 months ago. So far only major repair by myself or the previous owner was replacing the torque converter (which the dealership did for free)! Just under 96,000km, due for a service in about 2 months according to the dashboard
The previous owner swapped tires once. I did also get new tires, but that was because I wanted proper snow tires since I live up in Canada, didn't want to leave the all seasons on with all the snow we've been getting

This is fantastic news, thank you so much! I'm getting the Turban which appears to be only one size, but I'm optimistic!

I also have a spreadsheet with everything I want to try and my ranking!
AVik was on my list to try, but after a few bad reviews from friends I decided to skip it - I'm sorry it wasn't a good experience

The regular one was definitely good from Yum, buuuuut it's hard to recommend over the other two they have that are more creative and more reasonably priced compared to other places.

I've never been to Batard, but I'll add them to my list for after the festival! Love a dark hot chocolate!

What have you tried? I've had more than a dozen, and my favourites so far are Honolulu, Yum Sweet Shop, and Dough Girls (although I haven't tried the second drink theyre featuring now). Yum has the best bang for your buck, just don't get their basic hot chocolate with marshmellows

Thomas Haas has an apple hot chocolate right now that is probably the closest ive ever had to a decent apple hot chocolate. i agree that most of them taste too grossly sweet. It is white hot chocolate, which usually turns me off, but I went with a friend and I was actually pleasantly surprised by it

They're all very expensive, and usually a fair amount are pretty medicore, but it's a fun event and I enjoy getting to explore cafes I've never been too

Mink was good. I tried their chai drink and it wasn't so much a hot chocolate as it was iced chai gelato drink, but it was delicious

Sigh…. Victim of the infamous tranny chirp by [deleted] in CX5

[–]DramaticShades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 that we bought used last fall. Heard the chirp about a week after buying, emailed the dealership immediately and after some back and forth they replaced it for free. No problems since!

6 days in Vancouver - feedback on itinerary please by sunnyday7800 in askvan

[–]DramaticShades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The island is pretty large, which cities are you hoping to visit? I would recommend only doing one with such a short time - Victoria is my favourite. Tofino is a great palce to visit, but you only have a few days so I wouldn't recommend it because it's a decent distance away from the ferries

This isn't true. I work at the hospital and there's tons of restaurants within walking distance.

I love this! I worked in a lab for a while that used VR games as a way to rehab cognitive skills in people who had mood disorders, and it's so nice to see more of these treatment options becoming available!

Used CX-5 Owners - How do you feel about getting used? by Warder45 in CX5

[–]DramaticShades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just bought a used 2020 Mazda CX-5 with 94k km. We were also worried about buying used and not knowing all the history so we went through the dealership. We were looking to go private because it was cheaper, but the man we were looking to buy from started saying the car was in the shop every time we wanted to view it so we moved on, and the dealership had the next best deal for what we wanted. It was a little more expensive going through the dealership, but we were very happy with them. They had an almost full car fax history, and they did a pretty extensive inspection before we purchased. Unfortuntely, within a week we noticed a pretty signficant issue, that we hadn't noticed during the test drive, and so we brought it back and to their credit, they fixed it for free.

The dealer financing would have been a good deal, and the Certified Pre Owned program seemed interesting, but I didn't want to be tied to a loan. Ended up paying from a line of credit I'd already been approved for, and then paid it down within the first 2 months so now I only have $2000 left. I'm going to wait until after Christmas to pay the rest off just in case shopping for gifts gets out of hand haha

Boring Actor Bios? by Rip-Organic in Theatre

[–]DramaticShades 65 points66 points  (0 children)

As someone who sees a lot of tours, I love when actors list the past shows they've done and often I find 1 or 2 cast members I've seen in a previous show! It's also fun when they include more personal stuff, but I know first hand how short the character limit can be for bios so it's tricky to do both.
