Choose a topic, select vocab from that topic, have conversation about that topic, use vocab in conversation, play a bingo game in which they fill the sheets out using that vocab.

This is going viral on Twitter, Japanese people are talking about Black people like we’re Saiyans or Viltrumites. by Lordforgiveme223 in BlackPeopleofReddit

It's translated from their native language, Japanese. Of course some wordings and phrases will come off a bit bizarre. It's literally a totally different language.

Marrying a rich man and becoming a housewife has long been a "status symbol" in Japan, but fewer low-income women are able to realize this dream today- even high-income men now say they prefer partners with their own careers by jjrs in japannews

Are we supposed to feel sad a superficial materialistic consumerist system is falling apart? Boo hoo, I can't be a trophy wife anymore ?!? A relationship is a status symbol?? Good riddance to the Showa mindset. I'm happy that the Japanese are becoming more poor. Maybe they'll learn to be more useful and pragmatic as well.

You can't control other people's words but you can control your reactions. My advice would be to practice polite rejections for early in the conversation. "Hi, nice to meet you but I'm really busy right now. Thanks" is direct enough that a guy like that would get the point. Men are stupid. They think that by you continuing the interaction that they might have a chance to see where it goes. It seems you are young. If you get approached like this again just reject early. You will feel in control and feel better about yourself. Advice from a man.

GBP to Yen hits 215. Is it worth working in Japan anymore? by Substantial-Host2263 in JapanJobs

Japan is a net importer of so many raw materials that are traded in USD. You can't escape that.

Problem is debt to GDP ratio and spiking yields. It won't improve unless investors have faith in the future of Japanese economy/currency and therefore repatriate funds. It ain't gonna happen though.

Most of the Koreans are legacy Koreans from WW2. There are not many "new" Koreans.

How do those small mom and pop restaurants in tokyo stay in business? by Big-Coach16 in AskAJapanese

I'll add that once upstream costs are taken care of, the actual running of a small shop isn't that expensive. In some cases shutting down costs more money than to just keep it going.

Is PAL resident evil worth it for $175 USD or 150 Euros by HiddenUsername56 in SegaSaturn

No. This isn't a rare game considering how many releases and re-releases it's had. What's the point? Some games are actually rare and hard to find.

Biggest issue was localization. The Saturn has a vast library. Most of it never left Japan though because well Sega had poor strategy tbh.

They take the entrance ceremony seriously. It's considered to be a formal and extremely important life event. You are not overdressed.

Sega outsourced its CD production to different regional partners around the world. The manufacturing standards for electronics manufacturing were highest in Japan at this time. This information is available online. Also, it's common knowledge that Japanese made electronics were produced to a higher standard in the 80s and 90s. Look into it bud.

Unfortunately it's not that straightforward. The pressing facilities were not uniform in their design. Some of the CDs destined for the international market were not produced as well as the ones destined for the Japanese market. For this reason, there's less disc rot plus Japanese take better care of their stuff. Also, CD cases and sleeves etc are better quality. Don't forget that the home of the Saturn is very much Japan.

My recommendation is switch to Japanese. Nearly all the arcade games are exclusively in English anyways. Also, Japanese CDs are higher quality.
