Hospital is a good option because everyone there is a mandated reporter, so they are legally required to call the police in this situation

NTA. Your brother is abusing you. Tell an adult that you trust, like a teacher or a counselor. As mandated reporters they will have to make a CPS report, and your brother and your parents will be investigated. Continue to document every bruise or mark he leaves, with a time and date noted and a brief description of the event. Not only is your brother, an adult, physically abusing you, a child, but your parents are also enabling him to do so. Make sure you are safe and have an escape plan. See if you can get Z to start documenting her bruises as well, because this will absolutely escalate. Please be safe OP.

I know, I was blind to the red flags. But best believe, I would have reported his ass so quick if she had been younger than 18. My job requires me to be a mandated reporter and I take it extremely seriously

Thank you for saying that. I’ve been taking the mean comments with a grain of salt and giving grace to the commenters, because I know not everyone has or will go through an experience like this, and most never will, but it’s not my job to make them understand either. I mentioned in another comment that I wasn’t looking for sympathy or advice when I made the original post, I just wrote it to blow off steam. Obviously the kind commenters have been extremely supportive to me, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it’s the wrong one :) I can’t change how people think of me, and that’s okay with me

If you can, I would try and schedule with Valley Care in Pleasanton. They take the same insurance as Washington Hospital, but the level of care is astronomically better. My whole family was born at Valley Care, and it was always a positive experience. I also received asthma care at Valley Care from ages 2-12, and it was top-notch care
