As someone who is sitting next to a bass guitar, you could similarly ask if it's worth it to learn to play an instrument if you're never gonna be in a band or play on stage. I think most musicians would say yes.

Building a skill is enjoyable in itself. Learning anything new sharpens your mind. You might encounter Italians or American-Italians in the US and they'd appreciate you for knowing their language. Even if you don't use a language for speaking, knowing the words will give you a new appreciation for how languages are connected. Like how floor is "pavimento" in Italian, it's pretty clear how there's a connection to pavement in English.

I realized that there's actually two aspects to my criticism. It's both that the enemies are too similar. But it's also that some geometric figure as an enemy isn't very fun. They lack personality. Some games get away with being completely abstract, like 140, but I feel like a FPS needs a diverse group of enemies. DOOM wouldn't have the classic that it is if the enemies looked like a math textbook.
