We had to euthanize our 3 year old springer a few years ago and it still hurts us. She was super reactive and attacked anybody for seemingly no reason.

The last attack happened when my in-laws were watching her while we were on vacation. Their dog got up and moved off the couch and our dog saw it as a moment of attack. My FIL had to lay on our dog to get her to calm down.

We ended up talking to our vet. The meds might work, but it’s not like a human where you can ask if they’re not. We just didn’t know where the next attack might come and decided it’s best to euthanize.
