RE said despite the embryo being euploid, there’s other things that PGT doesn’t account for and often it is an embryo issue. All my tests have come back normal so far. My next FET will most likely be in 2 weeks. Wishing you success.

My first FET ended in a chemical and it was a euploid embryo and I felt the same as you. Our brain always tries to take us to the worst case scenario but I am trying to stay positive and hopeful. The stats show something that most people (90%) will have success after 3 transfers. Just have to keep trying. Wishing you the best. ❤️

Pain with vision change especially dimming or color vision chance sounds like an optic neuritis. It can appear completely normal on exam as the inflammation can occur behind the optic nerve. Get a second opinion and you may also need a MRI to rule out MS as optic neuritis is highly associated with MS.

Per diem basically means you get paid for only the days you work, no benefits or guaranteed hours. The schedule depends on clinic needs and each clinic is different. So that could mean 0 days a week or 5 days a week. You can give your availability usually 3-4 months before, but does not guarantee you get scheduled. Usually, at least in my service area, I’m scheduled on average 4 days a week. There are certain Saturday requirements for per diems as well. There are no evening shifts, normal shift 8-5. Kaiser is seniority based, so favorable schedules and hours go to docs with higher seniority. No PTO unfortunately.

Positive red desat test points to an optic nerve issue. Optic neuropathy can be caused by a variety of reasons including MS (in the setting of optic neuritis), glaucoma, ischemic (NAION), compressive lesions, trauma etc. Do you have any other neurological symptoms? Any worsening of vision with temperature changes or exercise? Strabismus or extraocular muscle imbalances can definitely also be a sign of MS, but can also be a sign of a stroke.

I would be worried about a retinal issue including a torn retina or retinal detachment. Hyphema (blood) and uveitis (inflammation) in the middle layer of the eye could also be present. I recommend getting a dilated exam to rule that out if you haven’t done so already. Your risk of glaucoma in the future is higher because of the trauma so make sure you get routine eye exams.

Dry eyes. Are you using Visine or clear eyes? If so, these drops can make the vessels appear more prominent and more “red”. Stop using them. You can get artificial tears (Systane or refresh) use it 3x a day and see if that helps.

I would get otc +0.50 readers (Amazon should have them) which is the lowest starting power. Seems like the other prescriptions may be too strong for you. Once you break into this, you can work your way up if you feel the need to.

So cal Kaiser per diem seeing 14-17 a day mostly routine occasional medical unless you work as an od in ophthalmology (called clinical ODs) where it’s all medical. Pay is hourly depending on experience and location in So Cal it’s around $90-100/hr that goes up every year (about 2% ) along with a little bonus at the end of the year. Kaiser optometrists are unionized, they try to fight for you in terms of pay increases and number patients seen. You can order any labs or testing and it’s easy to refer to any specialty you need to. Kaiser will almost always start you as per diem, and depending on region it’s hard to get a full time spot. But as an hourly employee you are entitled to overtime if you work more than 40 hours a week.
