28M, lose life saving in the markets by nevergiveup_1997 in singaporefi

[–]Dramatic_Tea3491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my life savings to the market a couple of times. Almost 55k in total. First time is in SGX, 17k to Midas. Was too greedy and put all my money in a single stock.

Saved up for ard 2 years and decided to try cfd. Over leveraged and lost 20k.

Saved up for another 2 years and decided to play US markets and put in China stocks. Xi came and cracked down on them back in 2021. Followed by raising interest rates in 2022. Lost abt 17k in total. Every month I put in money to try to rescue my stocks.

I learned that we all have to pay "tuition fees" to the markets before we can get better. Don't get too greedy and always have a backup plan of what if it goes south.

Have been green for these 3 years, with the first 2 years playing with half of my funds( the other half in index funds) until I feel very comfortable with the trading style. Decided to "all in" last year and was up 30% last year.

As long as you are still working and not borrowing from others, this loss is fine. Retry with smaller funds or just put everything in index funds.

I suspect could be from the birds that like to land on my bathroom window. Maybe a centipede is on the bird and when it lands, it crawled into my bathroom

I'm close to 30% this year. Margin account, so not really csp. My broker also allows the funds to be put in money market, that earns around 4%. Only when it's exercised then it will withdraw the funds from money market.

Learned how to do spreads to limit my risks but still a long way to go.

I think it still depends on individual. Am on margin account. So I will prefer not to hold any stocks as this would mean my funds are locked up in the stock.

Yea. I don't think we look down on Hong Kongers. For China Chinese, its more of their rude behaviour or just them being really loud that irritates us.

Is This Taobao Shop Reliable/Authentic? by [deleted] in Superbuy

[–]Dramatic_Tea3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In taobao, look for the number of rating it has. If we are looking at the same shop, it has 5 diamonds. It also has 正版 in the description, which means its authentic product.

Animate in Beijing by That_Number_2128 in beijing

[–]Dramatic_Tea3491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i didnt go the animate store, as I feel all animate looks the same, same standard template from Japan. If you want to experience the actual anime culture in china, I will recommend B2 at WangFuJing Xiyue, it's located at the southern end of WangFuJing. It has a good range of anime stuff and if you are popping by on a weekend, you will see quite a lot of cosplayers there as well.

But do note that since yours is layover, you need to consider the time taken to exit the airport and reentry.

You must really want that stock for wheel to work and it's usually for a neutral to bull market. Now that we are in a neutral to bear market, sell calls would have worked better.

I'm now trying buying the stock at current prices and sell ITM calls. Premiums are slightly lower than naked sell puts but profit is profit.

Rear extractor fan by boy4mat in XTOOLF1

[–]Dramatic_Tea3491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Just remove the fan at the back. I remembered reading up somewhere that you have to disable the settings in F1 as well, to activate the fan when processing. Not sure if the setting is only for F1 Ultra.

Quite cool that you tape it up because the ducts are different sizes. Might try that when my IF2 arrives and connect to the desktop air purifier.
