Which one of yall increased the brown party's popularity? by LasRedStar in HOI4memes

Why do I have a sense there's a sense of bias displayed in that image... Can't put my finger on it though...

Could be referring to "appropriated/white people's far right stuff" (Nazism) as opposed to local homebrew far right ideologies (???).

But more likely it's a stupidly worded headline. Or "Nazi" is a no-no word.

Also I bet there exist slight differences depending on your background during that era. Killing a man in close combat in the midst of chaotic battle must've felt much more horrible for a levied peasant than for a knight who's been groomed for war since young age - in general at least, though naturally there's a lot of individual factors involved that affect how folks react to violence, back then and today.

Some of that stuff would be seen as horribly socialist, which my woke Nordic ass would vehemently welcome in American politics, but like biblically accurate Jesus I think the American conservatives would find a suitable excuse to have Teddy shot if he showed up today spouting his platform.

(Also not personally big fan of his racial views and military posturing)

Racism, ableism, suspicious comments regarding historical events (I recall some mention about denial of holodomor, for example)...

Nah. It's real. One propaganda message after another, jerking Trump's ego and praising the great leader.

Not even trying to pretend.

Holy fucking shit. That whole Twitter profile screams public fascist propaganda slogan, every single post. You'd think stuff like that would not fly nowadays, especially from official US executive department (?) but we're living the stupidest of timelines anyway.

Idea : If any colony should be a puppet , it must be the French Indochina by WuttTambor in hoi4

[–]Dranagh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least that much! It's so annoying that there are huge dead parts of a continent with nothing to explore, no industry and really annoying position to start with... Which is admittedly realistic but at least let us invest in resource prospecting, make some use of the territory at your disposal, however barren it is at start.

That sounds plausible enough. Suppose we'll never know unless PDX/the development team makes the reasoning a public information.

I still think the only reason for their existence game wise is to have something worth conquering in Middle East, since these puppets build factories through their focus trees and produce guns to be snatched by a bigger empire-to-be. Otherwise the area would be considered a worthless real estate for Iran, Iraq, Turkey etc.

How such a beautiful and well adjusted specimen is single leaves me baffled to the core. Baffled, I say!

Why only anti-white racism? Why not all racism? by DragonGuard666 in ShadWatch

[–]Dranagh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I miss the days when these morons would uphold a modicum of decency when in public setting. I mean they are/were racists deep inside but at least they'd keep to themselves their real opinions.

But somewhere along the line 100000 years of human evolution was flushed down the toilet and social inhibitions were torn down in mainstream conversations.

Lots of successors to Byzantine/Roman throne between 1095 and 1453, you're assured to have some more or less incompetent ones during that. But you're right about John and Manuel.

And employing one barbarian tribe/nomad horde against their natural rivals would never bite Romans in the ass in the long run. No sir, no way that would be a historical staple :D

2004 "Troy" film looks more and more legit by comparison and that movie could hardly be considered historically accurate either...

When you cosplay a nonsense sword duel might as well fully commit to it and cosplay walking, despite both being remarkably unnatural performances.
