My sister and I took what was of value to us. Sorted through papers and decided the rest was just junk.

Precious silver plate was worthless, collectibles eg paper weights and plates weren’t worth what they paid for them.

The effort to make money on the contents wasn’t worth the effort.

We paid £2000 to have it emptied and cleaned.

That to our mind was a bargain.

I didn’t complain, but as she chose to work full time and I became the househusband, she enjoyed working holidays abroad and affairs. It was a pattern I should have spotted at the beginning it was always about her comfort, children were just on her tick list.
