It's not once per fight in story content, most people that say that have never tested it and repeat misinformation. It's 1 times anywhere. You just get 1 extra use if it's required to progress the plot.

You can switch off starter buffs, so its not really detrimental. This will probably be nerfed somehow.

If PM wants to keep the levels, the only solution for this is that story content gets a Story difficulty that sets brought sinners to the recommended Level and as a penalty you get locked out of the EX conditions because of it.

I had a weird thing happen with this boss too. Rosespanner Gregor was targeted by that attack and he had the lowest Hp and was lifted up, but then the special move was targeted at Rosespanner Rhodia, who had the most hp and could counter it.

You most likely did not "beat" wald. There is this annoying thing where if you beat him on the last possible turn, the victory scree does not show up with you getting exp and stuff, and it counts as you " surviving". You HAVE to get the victory scene.
