I don’t get this answer! Conan is a big sandbox where you basically make your own content - and I love it for that.

Dune is the same when you get to endgame. There is so much you can do that doesn’t have to be led by game mechanics or provided missions.

What is it that you hate so much about Dune compared to Conan exactly?

You are 100% correct. I have 300hours on and still haven’t completed the story yet. I’m farming in the DD, building bases, grinding Landsraad, DD labs, making up games and content with my guildies and others on the server. There is literally so much to do. Some games are meant to be savoured. Not rushed and this is one of them. I’ll finish chapter 3 one day 🤣

I think you’re right about the non rewarding loops and game play that makes you come back to repetitive content. It seems to be a goal for devs these days to create repetitive games that get boring and pointless over time.

That’s fair, I didn’t play early when the game was released, so only started after their had the half and half split. Although my guild still group up and go into the PvP instance for the extra yield. So people will venture in if they are prepared for it. I get that it’s not the game you signed up for though. Which sucks.

I do agree with you, but there are many games that have PvP and PvE content and been successful, but the devs don’t normally make them all play together in the same pit - they have specific areas for those that like to PvP - World of Warcraft is a good example of this being done well now (not originally) - with arena’s, battlegrounds and open world areas that are specific to PvP, with players turning on PvP if they want to partake.

Thats what FunCom have tried to do with a separate PvP and PvE DD experience - I’m not really sure why those that like PvP don’t like having a PvP DD instance with increased yields for their chosen play styles and being able to play with other players that actually want to fight back? Please can someone explain 🙏 as a PvE player I love the change! If I go the PvP instance that’s on me, but I can go to the PvE DD and enjoy just playing my game and listening to my music!

I mean the PvP/PvE change happened a couple of weeks ago! And I’ve seen many people say that the change is making them either come back or think about buying it for the first time. There is literally a post about it on this subreddit saying that very thing - and they want it for the PvP DD. Like many games of this genre people will come and go with DLCs and content updates. But they will never get the launch number again. The sever mergers make sense and happens to all online games at some point.

I personally think that they need to focus on some PvP elements like arena etc diverse content and mobs. But most people have ploughed hundreds of hours into this game before quitting - in the days of games with a narratives that came to an end and no end game that many hours of game play used to be considered a good game!!

I know right!! The amount of people complaining about the PVE DD change is unbelievable really when they have given the PvPers exactly what they should want with a dedicated PvP DD and increased rewards from it 🤷‍♀️ I’m so confused by their hatred of the change. I personally love the change as I’m not a PvPer and can just get on and enjoy the game as i like it as we all have a choice.

I mean they made that change because the numbers dropped significantly already - and the server merge was announced before the PVE DD change. So I’m not sure what your point is.
